Does the same information apply for acrylics?

That depends. If you're using acrylic opaquely then no. If you're using it in a watercolour manner then possibly.

You have a brillioant way of teaching. Suddenly I can paint nice looking cars, and this has taken a while. Not only that, but you also helped tremendously in my uinderstanding of blending too. So now, at least, I don;t paint cars like a 5 year old anymore. Thank you.

This was beyond helpful! I always wondered which retained their tips better. After how much daily use would you say the Kolinsky sable begins to use its point/need replacing?
@kbboynew1
@kbboynew1 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment Christine. I'm pretty hard on my brushes and I paint on rough paper. I would say the Kolinsky holds a great point for a month or two of continuous use. It's still a good brush for washes and when you flatten the end to a chisel shape it still gives lots of options but that sharp point that is useful for calligraphy and fine detail doesn't last too long.

Do you pre-shrink your paper so it doesn't get all wavy? I tried to do that using masking tape to hold the paper down but it tends to come loose.
@kbboynew1
@kbboynew1 3 жыл бұрын
I've gone through brief phases where I stretched the paper but over all I never found it worth sticking with. True the paper does buckle but I've just learned to work with it.

Really enjoyed that. I need to goof off and just have fun like that! Also, I just started with a small spray bottle that had eyeglass cleaner in it. I thought it would be good if I'm painting plain air since it small. Thanks again for a great workshop video.
