Beautiful dedication - he listens to his fans...a deep 2 way steet. We are so blessed to have him guiding us over 50 years...can't wait till 2025...Liverpool

Worst version of this great song I have ever heard! I hate when he changes things and sings the song in a different key. Clarence’s vocal part “When he’s got the fever for a girl.” wouldn’t even fit in this key. That’s why he doesn’t do it.

Nah, I don’t really dig Nils. Weak voice, over dramatic gyrations while playing. He is a good player and should rake it in a little.

The Great Nils !! Is he leading his guitar 🎸, or is it his instrument which moves and literally drives him ? 👏

Did the female bass player bring the mic stand over to Clarence at 335, because his sax wasn't mic'd up before that? I didn't think I heard it before that. Good job by her to catch that and fix the problem.

I am completely obsessed with this version of The New Timer right now. Who would think of an autoharp for this song? The only time I’ve seen Bruce associated with that instrument in any way. But it lends such an angelic backdrop to this hard tale, lifting it straight up to the heavens above.

It was played at a benefit concert in 2003. The next "Stolen Car" with the ESB would not be until 2009 after Danny Federici passing. So the last ESB "Stolen Car" with Danny was 1985. And I was there.

He fine tuned this story at his concert at the Coliseum LA in 1985 and it is even better! One of the best interludes of a song of all time!

It's hard to believe that tour ended nearly 20 years ago. I saw two different shows on that tour. Bruce has a magical way of reinventing a song while still keeping the power and essential elements of the story alive and intact.

Wow, how I have liked to hear this song during Boss's show in June,7th, in Assago's Forurm, in my hometown, Milano...well, anyway I heard the wonderful "Reason To Believe!" always with harmonica and bullet mic, and naturally I heard this song for the first time its original electric version in San Siro's stadium 8 years after this show, during the "Wrecking Ball!" tour, with the "heart stoppin', pants droppin', house rockin', earth quackin', hard rockin', heart breakin', brain shockin', soul cryin', electrifyin', booty shakin', belly quakin', love makin', motherfuckin', air conditioner breakin', sexyfin', history makin', women shrieking, grown man crying, legendary E-Street Band!"
