Slash got the opening to Sweet Child o Mine from this song.

People hate Schecter because they can't fathom the fact that the build quality is almost as good as their Jackson and ESP Custom Shop for a dramatic fraction of the price

she’s 100 percent right dream theater got away from song formats after the awake album and went to music olympics where the songs serve more of a platform for soloing. I started practicing their songs in 90 and it took me almost 6 years to get images and words and awake down after that the songs were so all over the place and felt disjointed i didn’t have any drive to try and play after that and liquid tension we’ll even if you get the technique try memorizing 5000 notes that have time changes every freaking bar. If i had one album it prob be Awake and for desert ytse jam search it out they start the song with the beginning of a pantera song

Lerxst is on a mountain top all is own- no other peaks in sight.
I heard they wrote this song to be "More rock metal" bc a music label guy asked them to not write so progressive it was a joke on train of thought which they wrote in like 3 weeks. I think there is a documentary of the this album

When Rush were inducted into rock n roll hall of fame, foo fighters made fun of lyrics, "for i have dined on honeydew."

Absolutely the most underrated guitarist. As for "what next"?... truthfully, the entire catalog (except maybe for a couple...) But make sure you check these pieces for sure: The Trees Natural Science La Villa Strangiato YYZ CygnusX1 books 1 and 2 2112 Red Barchetta Bytor and the Snow Dog (And then come back to see me for their hits....)

Nobody notices when Alex switches from the 12 string to the sixth string because its kind of dark and he does it really fast! If you look closely you can see him do it at 11:05.

The studio version is basically the same. And - fact - they recorded the studio version in one take. Apparently the sound engineer was totally overwhelmed. Couldn't believe it. But then you think how brilliant they are as musicians, on technical level. It's insane. And I'm not even really a Rush fan any more.

Alex's solos are for the song/music, not to be "showboaty". So many guitarist try to show off, and I feel that often it detracts from the felling, message, and meaning of the music.

Best rock band ever! And I can say I not only walked the earth when they did, I walked upon the same soil, and was privileged to see them perform live many times. What an immense they have given the world! 🇨🇦

I’m finding this video 4 years later. Bud if you wanna check out Alex with a little more freedom to his playing, listen to “La Villa Strangiato” live. Half the song is his solo.

Fun Fact...This song is about as close to a full on diss track we will get from DT, the whole song, especially the solo was one big middle finger from John Petrucci to Queensryche for some words they exchanged while touring together

You asked why Alex is under rated. I believe that a lot of the “greats” stand out in their band. Rush is so well balanced talent wise that he doesn’t stand out for most people. If you put him in any other band (not that I would), he would blow them away.

Well, it's 2024 and Band Maid and The Warning played a show together in Tokyo and also did a collab on a just released Band Maid song. It is called "Show Them" and there is an official music video. The bands are friends. The Warning is just coming off of a 19 show headline tour of Europe and the U.K. while playing at Wacken festival in Germany and Pol' And Rock in Poland, among others. They are doing a month long U.S. swing and then in October they are touring Canada with Evanescence and Halestorm. They are 24, 22 and 19 now. Pau was named Drumeo Rock Drummer Of The Year 2023 and the Modern Drummer "up and coming" 2023. They did nine shows with Muse in 2023. Dany represents PRS Guitars and Ale is a Spector Bass artist. "The Warning Army" tends to flock en masse to reactors that are reacting to The Warning. You might want to check them out. They are not children any more!!!
