Actually, that is for Twyford, Berkshire. These are all cast by John Taylor & Co. (over different years), and retuned in 2022 by Whites of Appleton and the tenor now weighs 10-2-3

They sound magnificent. That’s a brilliant project result. I look forwards to ringing on them sometime.

Hi Roger. I am planning to make a documentary about ringing, and I was wondering if I could use this audio track in a section about half muffled ringing. Would that be possible? You'd be credited of course. Thanks!

I rang bells at the same church for well over a year and could not master call changing. I got hopelessly lost every time. I unfortunately gave up because I felt stupid.

What’s up with the tenor at Backstroke. It isn’t striking at all on the muffled stroke
@Mr_SaltyChip
@Mr_SaltyChip Жыл бұрын
It is, it's very faint, and the bell is too wide at backstroke so it clips into the treble's next handstroke

So how do you sometimes end up with 4 or 5 ropes either mostly up or mostly down or 2 going up and passing the other three coming down midway and still end up with the spaced out notes? There is supposed to be a "round" involved based on what I've read, at least in some "peals" or whatever, but there is nothing like a real "round" involved in any of the ringing I'm seeing. A round always starts at the same point with the same person and the others singing or playing begin a bar behind the leader after singing or playing the tune in unison. The leader maintains his or her normal pace and the others wait and start later. They can go through again as a group or separate into their own spacing immediately each time through. It's a "round" because the "start" and "finish" SOUND like they're moving around the group and the music seems to speed up when in fact its going the same speed. Actually speeding up the notes of the bells and skipping the leader is not a "round".

We were sailing up the river near the dome, and at first thought it was some event in the tent, We were really intrigued to see a barge of bells heading towards us! We couldn't decide if it was mechanical as we couldn't see any campanologists!
