The problem with this and other videos is they should but do not start out with defining “Bud” “Cane” “Shoot” “renewal spur” …this is last years’ growth right? Well tell us how we know…rather than ask us. Arrrg. “Too thick” Why? What do you mean? What is wrong with too thick? No it doesn’t make any sense..he asks at 4:10 “If that makes sense” NO! And meanwhile fast forward footage is useless. There is no starting point about what his goal is to start with. Keeps asking if that makes sense..no dude it doesn’t.

Greeting OurTube. As this video starts saying, for lots more detail please check out the full-length class we recorded Live on KZbin. Much of the detail can be found there, but, of course, it is a longer video. In this case we decided to provide both a short 6 minute version for those who are looking for a short video and the much longer version for those who want more detail. Hope this helps.

Thank you. I have a gnarly old Himrod that hasn't ever really been pruned. I have hacked away at it but I didn't know what I was doing. It was helpful to see a pruning on the variety that I have.

Good video. I actually always prefer planting with root flare even good inch higher than surrounding ground and can mound up dirt a little

Yep 😊. A pollenizer is the tree/flower that provides the pollen. A pollinator is the insect, bird, etc that spreads the pollen.

We usually have a 100% coddling moth rate in our apples. Can you tell me the ideal time to place bags over apples to protect them from the worms. As soon as the blooms drop or is it better to wait until the apples start to form. We are using the similar organza mesh fruit protection bags you used which allow full sunlight through. But we want to time this perfectly so the blooms are pollinated and spent and not enough time for moths to have laid eggs. Can you provide some guidance to me on this. thanks

Thank you for this. The fruit trees at the nursery that are already espaliered are double the price of regular trees. My question: how did you set up the initial tiered wires? Maybe you already have a video of that - I’ll take a look since this is the first of your vids I’ve come across.

I'm doing mine on 16 ft cattle fences sideways.. I planted my apple trees on the end to grow to the other end and my pear tree in the center to grow both ways.. should I move my apple trees to the center of the fence like my pear tree this year?? I know they will go into plant shock.. but I'm thinking they will do better.. yes or no

I have a white grape that starts putting on good-looking clusters, but when they get to pea size or a little bigger, they look like they are turning into raisens and dry up and fall off. Ant thoughts on why this is happening?

Tip: wrap the bottom entire to a few inches above ground level with window seal tape. Also, 1/2 shovel of cement so the bottom is encased. Longer life for the system.

Looks like you haven't been active on youtube in a while, but on the off change you see this comment, can you please tell me how wide of a space you need for a grape trellis? I am really struggling with knowing where to put grapes in my foodscape. Thanks for being such an inspiration! Your foodscape is beautiful.

At what size should the fruit be when you begin to bag?
@terinbee91986 ай бұрын
Shortly after blossom drop in spring, while the apples are still quite small. I waited a LITTLE too long this year and bagged mine in mid June (in the PNW), and a few apples did already end up having larvae at that point. But the ones I did bag in time not only didn’t get infested, they were also way larger and more flavorful than past years ! I’ll ABSOLUTELY be doing this me5id again, and the mesh organza bags are in great condition ready for reuse.
