Chris Weidman’s coaches said that they think he’s the best he’s EVER been at this point right after he won his last fight from the EYE POKES . So his CTE can be partially blamed on his coaches when he gets it in his family telling him not to fight anymore I don’t know why he is he’s got no chance next flight

These have little or nothing to do with it. Explosive muscle contraction is TRAINED over time. But Punching power has to do more with how the punch is thrown.

I would say strong traps and a strong neck I started wrestling in 8th grade and been training in Muy Thai and boxing since I was 19 now 26 I have not been dropped yet and have had some guys try to hit me pretty hard but I’ve learned to roll with punches as well but looking at things forsure my years of wrestling has helped me for taking shots well

The ass thing is real. I'm tall and skinny but I move furniture for a living despite having no ass. I can lift heavy shit all day but I have no explosive punching power. I have every leverage advantage as long as I can move slowly but every disadvantage if I have to deliver power quickly

I feel like taking time off helps. Not fixes it . I think every so often it is good for a fighter to take 2-3 years off. I do MMA and starting amateur career soon. I am lucky i fight as a heavyweight so weight cutting is out. But i still think about this a lot

One move in the right direction would be to have a centralised boxing authority that would oversee matchups. At the moment boxing is literally being run by promoters and sports streaming platforms who manipulate the boxing sanctioning organisations and as a result fighters aren't matched properly. The norm is to match a more marketable fighter with a lesser opponent or a fighter well past his prime rather than against a fighter of equal ranking or ability. This often results in mismatches where the opponent is at the receiving end of a concussion.

There's an interesting case involving another boxer, Frank Bruno, whose punching power was measured under laboratory conditions by a team of scientists representing the British Medical Association at Loughborough University. According to the study, Bruno's punch registered at 0.6 tonnes of force, which is equivalent to 53 times the force of gravity. To provide context, it's worth noting that fighter pilots typically experience blackouts at six times the force of gravity. The testing wasn't aimed at setting a world record but rather to scientifically examine the potential damage a heavyweight boxer could inflict on the human skull. This information isn't based on speculation; official records of these tests are available .

I hate knockouts. I think it's unfair in MMA. We should try special rules MMA with a ban on hitting head or face intentionally

To me one thing was how in shape i was. First couple times i sparred every punch felt like thunder but after a year and being in shape the same dudes punches felt like feathers. In my mind when you fatigue you become a lot more susceptible to being ko'd due to reaction time slowing down making it easier to get hit with something you cant brace for.
@dancheng30142 ай бұрын
The more interesting punchers are those who throw punches that do not look powerful. Wilder, The Klitschkos, you can see that their knockout punches are obviously knockout punches - they are snappy and explosive. But the punches of boxers like George Foreman or Beterbiev do not look powerful - they look slow - but you know they are powerful because their opponent is wincing in pain.
