Marcus, thank you. I no longer need to watch any more golf videos related to technique. I don’t know how, but you made everything click so crystal clear that I’m confident I will hit the ball exactly how I want to every single time. I got out of bed, ran outside, swung the club, and jumped for joy. I realized I hadn’t been using my lower body at all, despite thinking I was. Now I see just how “bunched up” I was. I can’t even fully explain it, but now the “separation” and all the positions are just there-they feel so normal and natural. I’m embarrassed because I’ve been doing something completely opposite of how I played sports as a kid. Once those old memories came back, I understood exactly what you meant and how to apply it. Insane stuff, man. I have no doubt I’ll be crushing the living sh** out of that little white ball until the end of my days. I hope everyone who watches your videos comes to the realization I just had. You took something so damn confusing because of all the other people out there and made it into what it really is. A simple natural movement into and through the ball like you would in any other sport... God Bless.

Love all of your stuff GRF golf team! I am already a pretty good chipper and pitcher for only playing for this year. Its brought my handicap from 36 to 16 just off short game alone. These videos are really making my contact something special. Yesterday and today I have had a few wedge shots hit the green bounce up and then spin right or left almost like the really good golfers. Amazed. Short game is so much fun!

Do you notice a difference between this setup and on course? Because every time you are jumping, the whole construction underneath you is moved and absorbs a part of your energy.

Today was so fun on the course. I only sliced 4 balls and knew instantly its because I kept the face open. Hit my first BOMB draw today, and multiple out to 250+. My normal driver is 180 hard fade into the fairway. Today my driver matched the rest of my game. THANK YOU

I am a good putter, but after watching this video, I tried putting using just the 'frontal plane,' and wow... My putts are even better than before. I actually remembered something Bryson said, and it all clicked once I putted like that. When I used my old putting style, it still went dead straight, but the way I was doing it was by using the 'transverse plane,' as you say. Using the frontal plane is a game changer. I recognize the feeling somewhat, but now having a name for it and fully understanding what it is has made all the difference. Putts are now insanely accurate. Its like cheating really. There is no way to miss if your line is right and pace. Literally no way. Its not possible.

Hi Marcus. Good video although my wife would moan if I was playing golf on the beach as well. I’m struggling with this one. I get and understand this is on 3, I’m here. My question is are we drifting back somewhere from 2 to 3 and then flexing on that left side or is the flex and the drift forward is one on 3, at the same time? Feel free to point me to a video that answers this as I spend my days studying your videos ;-)

When you say release, how do you actually release it in the swing? Stopping the handle from going any further forward?

@@GRFGolf So you let your left wrist break independently of this moving of the lateral handle movement?
@GRFGolf
@GRFGolf 12 күн бұрын
@@einstu Yes this is only an exercise to heighten awareness to appreciate the contribution of this component of wrist motion. It is not explicitly exclusive and a 'method' and will recruited involuntarily as part of multi-component release pattern.

Thanks Marcus. That was my question from another clip. So the release is what determines how high, chip or pitch or lob? It seems that you are prescribing the flail movement (and shoulder pop) thus always putting check on the chip and the pitch?
@GRFGolf
@GRFGolf 12 күн бұрын
Not always, this is firstly to attune you to the motion of the club in this plane of rotation and the effect it has on loft, bounce, flight/shot characteristics etc and explore the potential.
@einstu
@einstu 12 күн бұрын
@@GRFGolf Thanks. I ask because a lot of the short game teachers, like Dan Grieve, focus on a more rigid takeaway choosing when to break the wrist in both directions. I played with this one day on the green and it's great for chips but not as useful for higher pitches especially when precision was needed (short pin, downhill, over a bunker)
@einstu
@einstu 14 күн бұрын
@Marcus, do we flail it on short pitches and chips, ie still have the impression on a steep or short backswing, handle going first and, then in the downswing too on every shot?

If you had a strong grip and strong delivery position, you probably dont want the 'toe down' piece of this (you'd want less forearm rotation in your release)?
@GRFGolf
@GRFGolf 15 күн бұрын
It depends, it's not just forearm rotation but lead wrist flexion (trail wrist extension) plus deviation which all contribute. This 'closing' of the face allows the body to work so it's the body motion that really changes and balances out the face rotation. When we allow the club to rotate freely the body action can respond more dyanically.
