this is exactly what I imagine a de Chirico painting would sound like. So solid choice on the album art.

Lisa was only 23 years old when she died, earlier this January. It's heartbreaking and unsettling to lose someone so young, full of energy, and life, who suddenly departs from this world. I don't even know the cause. When I listen to this, I imagine myself porch sitting, looking at big snowflakes falling. I cannot tell if she is somewhere near or not, but for a brief moment, I feel peace. Lisa loved cats, small dogs, her homemade tiramisu, and fancy things. She was also a good teacher and wanted many kids. Rest in peace, sweet girl.

This is fascinating, dreamlike, mystic. The sound of the hook is just so weird and so familiar. And I want to think that world is full of this kind of unique and obscure forgotten tracks that are waiting to get discovered.

I’m not sure what it is exactly these guys do. A lot of the songs they do alone or together are original songs by the original artists. These are then slowed down or sped up or warped. A lot of the time they’re sprinkled with all manner of mysterious surface noises. I’m not saying I dislike it. I don’t. It’s interesting to listen to and creates a unique ambience. But I find it hard to believe that the heavenly choir on this are the voices of either Lescalleet or Lambkins. So are these guys creative vandals or musicians ? I swear I’m not asking with some sarcastic agenda and trying to insult them. It’s just a whole new musical art form to me and I’m hoping someone more knowledgeable can explain it to me.

plunderphonics is the name it has been described with. in a world saturated with recordings, they can became ways to make different sounds or different way of configurating these sounds
@richardgamrat19444 жыл бұрын
@@HH-wv8sj But this particular track is more of Musique concrète, isnt it?
@HH-wv8sj4 жыл бұрын
@@richardgamrat1944 yes for and field recordings / soundscapes and would fall in the general categorie of ambient music. categories can be useful to find stuff or define sometihng coming out of a certain moment (musique concrète is attached to the research initiated by Schaeffer, Henry, Malec and all the GRM and GRM-like stuff starting in the 40's-50's on top of the theories of the futurists of the 20's) the but once you are in the stuff it is not always good to think too much about it. I think what is plunderphonic is the combining, the mixture of the disparate elements and designate the practice emerging around the time of the 80's with john oswald who coined the term, but really "Listen, the Snow is falling" by Graham Lambkin and Jason Lescaleet :), categories and genre shouldn't get in the way of discovering and experiencing something in its uniqueness and in the uniqueness of the way you are experiencing at the precise moment you are experiencing it which is different every time you come back to it even when the difference can feel slight. recordings are fixed our lives are not

@@HH-wv8sj I was just checking if I understand the terms correctly (at least to certain degree :D)
@teddydog62294 жыл бұрын
@@richardgamrat1944 Would James Ferraro or Philip Jeck be called plunderphonics ? Neither play an instrument and they use all outside sources to make brand new music. Actually Jeck is identified as a Turntablist and I guess there's a small but significant difference. Is there any kind of live scene for this ? This is all connected to Wolf Eyes isn't it ? It's just hitting me how hard it would be to write the history of music in the 10s.
