You cannot directly restore an scp-downloaded sys_config file through the FortiGate GUI's config restore function. The sys_config file contains a partial configuration and might not include everything you need for a full restore. Is it correct ? Can you post sys_config restore via fortigate GUI

Thanks! What else I learned: with adding a PTR record, reverse lookup (IP > hostname/A-Record) also works. I also found out that if you want the lookup to internet DNS to work (the forward in recursive DNS server) it will forward it to your globally configured DNS server (for VDOM's, this is the VDOM with management features).

I am capable of getting everything to work right up until the point that I try to log in the user to the shared smb and after clicking "login" it returns a html error "This Page Isn't Working xx.xx.xx.xx Didn't Send Any Data". The smb share is hosted by a Mac computer and I am able to access the shared directories using the tunnel mode. Any idea why it is not returning the directories in web mode?
