Something I noticed from that alien guy's voice is that he is voiced by Kazuya Nakai (Japanese voice actor of Zoro) and also Turbo Granny being voiced by Mayumi Tanaka (Japanese voice actor of Luffy). Yeah very wacky start as you said and for me might be picking up the manga maybe after season 1. Also thanks for bringing me back to the anime scene!

We did see the ichibe vs yhwach fight in the manga the extra stuff that was added in the anime was the senjumaru bankai reveal since we only got to see the ichibe fight while the rest were clapped off screen

You remember in season 1 when Tanjiro first meets Muzan in the busy city streets and Muzan turned a random bystander into a demon to keep Tanjiro off of him and then Lady Tomayo showed up and took them both in? That flesh seed blood demon art is his, Lady Tomayo helped bring back his humanity under her care and he created his blood demon art for the sole purpose to immobilize Muzan. It's an amazing callback that unfortunately a lot of people miss.
