Hi, Paul, thanks for the update. I've just been comparing the state of the roads surface and pavements in my road to that of Downside Road in Guildford. Seems the latter have been completely resurfaced and had all the verges returfed some time after August 22, at which date it was in better condition than my road was. Downside Road is a dead end, while my road is a busy through road leading to a school. It's funny how the wealthy elites of Downside Road, Guildford have had hundreds of thousands spend on their road, while mine has been left to rot. How can this be justified?

my personal issue with Coleford Bridge Road is coming from Farnborough and trying to turn right into the Quays is the lack of decent road markings i that traffic coming the other way is cutting the corner into the right turn lane, because it is not clear it is there - do you have somebody we could talk to about marking this properly? A head on collision waiting to happen, or at least a rear slam when somebody coming from Mytchett has to stomp on the brakes?

Could the grass verge at the frimley green roundabout please just be a hard surface - tarmac or similar. I agree with stopping cars turning right onto the front of Boots as this may cause a back log onto the roundabout, but with the disgusting state of the rest of the Borough's grass verges and sidewalks due to the lack of maintenance, it would be a shame to see the green in that state also.

Paul, re the traffic mit in Frimley Green. I think the grass verge should be kept as it will be safer and cause less traffic congestion if drivers are not stopping to turn right across on coming traffic

Perhaps. One of them is entirely invisible. I don't think he has ever been seen in Mytchett or Deepcut, at least not by me. He should be utterly ashamed of his performance on behalf of local residents. It irritates me that the Lib Dems accused our previous MP as being an absentee MP (which was not true), when they have utterly useless and lazy councillors like this guy in their ranks.

That is good news Paul. Thanks for the update. I too spoke with the engineers on site the other day on my way to the allotments and they indicated that under that bridge is the low point in the area and hence all water ends up there. There is no pump it's all working by gravity so drainage away from there is always going to be slow - even if the new drains are of greater capacity and are kept clear. So, natural spring or rainwater run off, I was wondering where this water goes, by gravity. I assume there must be a gentle fall allowing the drain to empty into the lake behind the old Mitie/ Mid-Southern Water Offices? A nearby and related problem, which I fear could well undo all the good work just completed by these engineers, is the perennially blocked drains outside Frimley Lodge Park opposite the Scaffolders. I have - in my observant but amateurish way - surveyed the problem and its likely root cause. I think the source of the problem is the footpath over the bridge into Mytchett which is bounded by scrubby undergrowth, (stinging nettles, brambles and so forth), all spilling out from under the guard rail. The problem is that this undergrowth and all the attendant leaf-fall from the trees has, over the years, built up the soil levels to be HIGHER than the footpath. When it rains this soil is washed across the footpath and into the road/ gutter and is washed downhill towards Frimley Lodge Park. The soil and silt is clearly visible to anyone and everyone who walks there daily (as I do). It is washed into the drain gulleys, along with tree debris, and simply silts them up. Even the drain which is part way up the bridge slope, and which you'd think would be kept clear by rapid downhill flow, is completely filled and often buried in silt. I can only assume that the drain under the road must be blocked too. The silting process continues and is repeated down at the next drainage gulley opposite the Scaffolders where the road floods. It seems to me that all that silt will eventually/ gradually flow onward to the newly serviced drains at Sturt Road Bridge and may well block it all up. What is needed is a couple of fellahs with their shovels to clear the footpath undergrowth back down into the embankment and BELOW the height of the footpath. A roadsweeper to clear the current debris accumulated in the gutter, then a serious bit of gulley sucking to clear the drains of all the silt therein. If they do it all correctly - the job will be done once and for all and will only need a modest bit of strimming once or twice a year to keep the undergrowth and the soil level where it should be. Yours - optimistically, Peter

The strange location of the dog bins is probably like another one on Tomlins Avenue. When it was placed it was in the open, but since then the trees and undergrowth extended to envelop it.

Thank you for that very sensible summing up of the situation but unfortunately I am afraid the Lib dem hate campaign has probably been too effective. Rest assured that I have no intention of voting for anyone but Conservative, they are not perfect but definitely the best choice among what is on offer. I sincerely hope there are enough others who think the same to save us from the disaster of the Lib dems and consequently a labour majority in Westminster.
