Pacific or Cinematic Studio has the best pro brass sound to my ear

Which one is your favorite? Hmm, I'm very disappointed with the ARO Strings, the sound so generic to my ears. I like the comparisons very much, thank you for that! This composition is amazing, so peaceful, exactly my style. John Barry'sh :D

Hi, thanks for Your kind comment on my composition. Yes, you recognized it, that should sound like John Barry. :-) . Yes, I am also disappointed with the ARO strings, they should actually be perfect for this. But they have less character than the old Spitfire Symphonic Strings and the legato isn't even close to CSS - and they were very expensive.

i prefer CSS for it's usablity, sound and smaller recorded space, the berlin ones are too large of a space for my mixing. Vienna of course sounds amazing as well.

You need to try different libraries for different needs. Learning which libraries to combine also helps. Cinematic Studios Strings + Pacific Ensemble strings together are a match made in heaven.

Beaufort wins for this kind of music imo. I don't like the SA Brass not so much, except ARO

True. By the way, I was surprised that VSL can keep up to the first places.

Thanks for the mega good comparison! What is your favorite? The space, the sound and the quality of AROSS is the best I've ever heard. Meh, the envelope of the notes sounds very sterile and rather boring compared to CSS / Pacific . Probably needs more tweaking to make it sound good.
@ASX200118 күн бұрын
Thanks for Your comment! AROSS is my "Waterloo". Buyed it (expensive) and since then I try to get the strong emotionality of CSS out of them. No chance. Yes. the envelope needs much more work, but even then... I'm a little dissapointed.

corrrection: Synchron Strings Pro 1-st place , best legato, balance, programming

Junkie XL's brass sounds so muscial!

CSS for me from these. They not only have a great sound, but the legatos are noticeably smoother and more natural.

Thanks for the video! All good libraries, but in my opinion 1st place Pacific Ensemble Strings 2nd place Synchron Strings Pro 3rd place Synchron Duality Strings + BBC Symphony Orchestra Pro Good Job!

Thanks for Your comment! 👍 I like Synchron Strings Pro too. Now I try to make friends with the new Abbey Road Symphonic strings, but it's a long way. I think, the closer the mics, the better they sound.

Beaufort Brass sounds so amazing, I feel that and Monolith are the 2 best releases ever from this company , we look forward to what they release in the future. I own CSB, Forzo and Fanfare brass. Forzo is really cool because of the insane articualtions it has like Cluster bends and Tuba Crescendo bends.. the sound of Godzilla rising from the ocean pretty much. Also, very nice little composition, cheers!

Thanks for Your comment! And the recommondations (Monolith), I'm looking forward to listen to some examples.

CSS wins, i just don't like the large room strings sound of the other libraries i know we can probably turn down room mics and this and that but the overall quality, room size and sound of CSS is kinda unmatched. Mind i don't make classical orchestral music, i make hybrid music for video games. I just installed Tokyo Scoring Strings 2 yesterday. very nice sound, but not for everyone. it's very different. Has a very signature sound. Another library i'm interested in is Soundpaint Adastra strings and the new disco strings they put out. Soundpaint is cool.
@ASX2001Ай бұрын
Thanks for Your comment. CSS is the benchmark to reach, yes. I buyed the Disco Strings too, 😅 love Disco music. The Tokyo Scoring Strings sound typically japanese, somewhat colder, not fitting for my music, but yes, perfect for gaming music. I think, choice of libraries depend on what you want to compose / tell.

@@ASX2001 the new Performance Samples libraries sound absolutely amazing as well. Especially their Choir library, i need it haha. cheers. Another company hidden gem libraries is Musical Sampling, i just got that Parker English Horn it's awesome, and their new Harrington Bassoon is to die for. no keyswitching needed.

Yes, waiting for Vista II.... 🤤 And from Musical Sampling I like the Brass, but I'll check out the woodwinds You mentioned.
