just wondering? what if you went from the output of the switchboard into another switchboard daisychain style. any chance of getting anywhere by doing that?
@rjmmusic
@rjmmusic 3 күн бұрын
You can definitely do that, but the two will act independently - buttons pressed on one Switchboard would only effect the loops on that Switchboard. The Switchboard doesn't have a MIDI input, so it can't respond to commands sent by another Switchboard.

Can you comment on a usable example of how this can used as splitter for possible wet/dry scenarios with two amps and how to do that?

Would LOVE a video on different options for splitting/routing wet/dry etc. the instructional video flys by set up and midi setup. I can’t seem to find a clear breakdown of these options anywhere online. Can you point me in a direction? Thanks!

I'm sorry, we don't have videos at this time, but it's pretty simple. Just choose one loop to be the split point. Connect its send to your dry amp, and don't connect anything to its return. Any effects before that split point will be dry effects, and any effects after that will be wet effects (the main output becomes the wet output in this case). Just make sure that the loop used to go to the dry amp stays on at all times.

hi, this video is amazing! Question, Do you get out of your fuzz, comp and OD, and then you use the insert loops 'in 5-6' and 'out 5-6', to go for your input amp (insert in5-6 -> in amp, out amp -> insert out 5-6)?
@rjmmusic
@rjmmusic 28 күн бұрын
If I recall correctly, the board was wired so that Out 5-6 went to the amp input and the amp's loop send was connected to In 7-10. Out A went to the amp's loop return.

Dave was the lead guitarist in my band in 1988-89. He's such a good guy, and I'd love to check in with him again. He's the only one of us who really made it in the music industry, and he sure found a unique path for himself. He was building masterpiece guitars back then, and repairing complete wreckage into instruments that looked and played like they were new. I miss ya Dave! (The Donster Monster)

It'll control a GT1000, no problem. You can select presets, and (I'm fairly sure) that you can also control individual effects in a patch. The GT1000 doesn't support bidirectional features like tuner display or the ability to download preset names, though.

@@MrRunamuckroadiehaha, fair enough. I have to say though, I know it’s a guitar signal split into 3, then sent to whammy pedals, one an octave up and one an octave down, and a signal at normal pitch then sequenced… I just wanted to know what is used to sequence the opening and closing/switching of each signal. I do it in Logic Pro by automating the three channels to turn on and off, but it took a long time to draw that automation in to get the exact correct sequence (especially when it came to lining it up to the grid perfectly 😩). Do you guys use automated sequencing software to control the sequence, or was it done manually, the way I do it in a DAW? If it is a program, is it one that’s commercially available?

This is not really anything new. I got a Rolls Patchworks in the 90’s, then I switched to the Ground Control in the early 2000’s. Folks have had MIDI controlled loop switching forever. I still have an RJM rack unit from 12+ years ago. Matrix switchers are where it’s at. I have a couple Sound Sculpture units, but what’s on my board now is the Morningstar ML-10X. Hi. I’m a keyboard player/vocalist looking at your products and wondering how I could use them for a rig. I typically run stereo playbacks, stereo out of my keyboard, and stereo out of my vocal effects pedal. I think I heard one of you say the mixer can take stereo line input levels. If I heard correctly, I would just need y-wires to go TRS 1/4” males into the mixer. Am I thinking correctly?

Spillover isn't a feature the Switchboard has, but you can add it with an external line mixer. Our Micro Line Mixer manual has a diagram showing how to connect it to a switcher like the Switchboard. @rjmmusic
@rjmmusic 5 ай бұрын
If by master controller, you mean that you could connect all 4 amps to it and select which amps are receiving signal, then yes. Just connect the sends of 4 loops to the amps, and don't plug anything into the returns. You can turn any combination of amps on. The only potential issue is that you may encounter hum due to ground loops. To fix it, you would need to flip the ground lift switch on the amp if there is one, or get isolation transformers.
