It's only fair. In season 1 of the Iron series he opened delinquent duo and forceful sentry every game for like 10 matches in a row. If you think my luck is good here you should have seen it last night, we were testing and basically had no cards each and I literally say "alright, anime top deck powers time.. Hyat!" and drew the exact card to win me the game.

One thing that I was thinking when the first Mulchummy was revealed was, do you know how Tears "play in the opponent's turn" sort of thing? My first though was that they would do something in these lines, but wanted it limited since tear 0, sort of "you can play during the opponents turn... only a bit." But yeah, it seems the archetype is going to be this draw/mulligan engine thing. You can win of exodia at least tho lol.

Do you plan to change the master rule according to Steafens format? Could be relevant for pendulums.
@jankyygo7296
@jankyygo7296 Ай бұрын
Nope, Steafen said he wanted it to be like this where we play with current rule set and face the decks. If I'm being honest, I don't think it really mattered this game. If he had floodgates that could have stopped me he probably would have set those instead.
@RatoRatito
@RatoRatito Ай бұрын
@@jankyygo7296 yeah, it doesn't affect Qli that much, but I was thinking of Pendulums that relied more on Extra Deck Pendulum spam (was PePe like this?) it could also change the historical power level, like decks that played under the restriction of MR4 (4 was the one that you could only extra deck summon in the extra zone, right?) could have a different feel to it, specially deckbuilding wise (since they had to play with that restriction in mind).

I really, really, REALLY enjoyed the talk about how you view the board and plan your moves. It seems to be the sort of thing I imagine most people do unconsciously, but to articulate it in your mind and bring it "to the surface" seems to make it so much better. As you said yourself, when you see a big board, don't panic and kaiju the big guy. Get this idea and really consider it before acting. I think I've only done it once (and I should do it more TBH), it was on my first domain game. I was playing some Ancient Gear + Earth Machines and the only person left was a Dragon Maid. We were both on low HP. I had Monster Reborn on hand, so I considered "ok, I can just reborn some big monster from the GY and hit some of their smaller monster for game (or make Gustav, or whatever)." After that, my mind went into "their only negate is the fusion dragon maid, can I bait this negate then?" and so on. Then the thought trail kept going, and I think it was one of my highest level of playing lol, more than just "I know my deck, I know combos, I know my searches" and so on. Really looking for more of these "technical skill" videos!! Maybe you could do one on how to practice playing with your deck? Not only combos, but more options, from deck building (How do you choose which tech cards to pick? Monster negates or spell removals? Which Hand traps/board breakers?) to decision-making (do you look at a random tournament board online then think "if it was me, how would I play around it"? Do you rewatch your games and think how you could have played differently?), as well as when knowing when to go for the kill (In relation to your talk of people overextending, my biggest difficult is knowing when I am overextending. Sometimes I look and think, "well, I could also do this combo and get this other guy. Should I? Maybe I should stop here and it's better?" So I make some more plays "just to be safe" that may simply not be needed).
@jankyygo7296
@jankyygo7296 2 ай бұрын
The hardest part about suggesting board breakers and deck building choices is that I don't really think about it I just kinda do it. I don't look at a field online and think "how can I break this board?" Because I don't have a hand to look at. I can think of a hypothetical hand that could out the board and win but that doesn't really help me improve when I think about magical christmas land hands. I tend to reach different conclusions and my thought process can be hard to explain at times. - Mikhael

@@jankyygo7296 idk man, sounds like skill issue to be. Jokes aside, it's alright. Doing something and understanding why it's two different things. For example, you know what a dog looks like, but it's sort hard to articulate how you define what it looks like. Then, instead of thinking why, what do you do? For example, let's say you want to build a hero deck in md because you love not having negates. At start, what do you do? Look at decklists online? Read all the cards? Look at combo guides? Afterwards, with the deck complete, how do you learn how to use it? Do you practice combos alone? Do you have a big spreadsheet with all the searches? Do you just take this deck for a game and learn as you go?
@TheWinterPhoenix
@TheWinterPhoenix 2 ай бұрын
@@RatoRatito I look at decklists online try out the deck and find out the good cards and bad cards by playing afterwards. As far spreadsheets go for the most part I don't use them, I just take the deck for a spin and figure it out myself. Sometimes I'll watch a video on the deck and see how it can be done. If I have faced a deck enough times I will often remember what they did and copy them to a certain point and see if I can either push it further or find out why they stopped when they did.
