When Anthony quoted Cici, "Yeah, well, there's no accounting for taste", I almost lost it. 🤣🤣Watching this video was a bad idea cause now I want to re-watch all the Scream movies (I've lost count of how many times I've watched them - Scream will always be my favourite slasher franchise) when I have so many new movies I need to watch lol. My ranking (tough to do since I love all the movies) would be 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 5. By the way, Nolan, congrats on the baby; I wish you and your beautiful family all the best. Anthony, I'm happy to see we share the love for Scream! All the best to you <3 P.S. I forgot to mention; I know many find that scene cringe, but the cafeteria scene where Derek starts singing will always be one of my favourites scenes ever - so cute, especially for a horror movie 😭

I was also excited to see The Conjuring and Insidious on the lists. Might be controversial but i think its one if the most recognizable series of non-slasher horror films from a generation. I cant think of as much that generated as much mainstream buzz around it then this series. I think everyone born in the late 80s/90s remembers going to the theater to see these films. I usually listen on the podcast, but had to comment on KZbin; I love the original, but I get the criticism with the slow pace and such, but I’ll still give it a 7 out of 10. I thought it was heavily rushed. The storyline was lost in this adaptation. Far too much cgi. The only thing I enjoyed was the 80s horror movie nostalgia it appeared to portray. It was worth a single watch. But now I’m going to go back and rewatch the original 😄

You guys really don't like Susan at all. Wow. Granted, she should have been a midday meal for Barlow in this one like she was in the book/original/2004 miniseries, but she wasn't the worst. Honestly, I think they needed to do what the 2004 mini-series did with Barlow. He should be human. You can tweak him a little bit, make him look more feral, but in the book he can PASS as a human. There is no way this Barlow could function without intermediaries. That being said, this was the first time I think Salem's Lot really got the bestiality of the non-Barlow vampires correct. In the 1979 and 2004 versions, they come across as subdued and as little more than puppets. The Vampires in this were actually something to be feared. All that strength, the ability to fly, and those suggestion powers.

I think that certain Friday the 13th may or may not have a better cast than this movie depending on the sequel. Part 2 and 4 have better characters than Sleepaway Camp, but not Part 3 or 5. I also prefer The Burning over Sleepaway Camp, as The Burning is the best Summer Camp slasher. I think I prefer those movies because those film you are actually afraid of characters that you like dying as opposed the the terrible people in this film getting their comeuppance, which downplays the horror to me. It is a fun movie, but it's not exactly why I am interested in slasher films, which is to connect with character's just to see them die. It adds stakes and suspense. But everyone in this movie who dies just sucks.

@eddiechase3055 ай бұрын
Ends is a better film (better execution, an original, yet extremely flawed premise, camera work, use of town as a character, etc.) but I'd rather watch Resurrection than Ends. Ends was "unique" but it had no business being the closing chapter of the DGG trilogy. I can't get over logistics of Corey and Michael tag-team killing people and Michael being his buddy and riding on his motorcyle (how else would Michael get to that doctor's house lol). I can respect it but I don't/can't see myself rewatching it. Resurrection is awful but at least I can throw it on in the background for a laugh. Ends has no rewatch value for me.

I was extremely dissapointed. Loved the actors, loved the idea but so poorly executed. maybe i missed something but they consistently elude to him accidentally sacrificing his wife to be number 1 but then say he was always behind Johnny Carson. After the Halloween episode, id assume show would be canceled and buried due to the intro making it seem like a found footage type event. So when was he number 1? During that single episode? Its not like people are going to be calling a house line to tell friends to turn the channel at midnight and no internet/texting to tell people otherwise.
@ralphodinaka2435Ай бұрын
That's the point. He was NEVER going to overtake Carson. He would be famous but not in the way he'd have liked as he would very likely be infamous from the Halloween episode. We can assume he'll be arrested for the murder of Lily at the very least. Remember that Lily did tell him he would be famous after that night. Not number one. Plus, the devil is the father of lies so Jack's sacrifice was all for nothing as the devil will take from you and give you nothing good in return. Maybe watch the movie again with this in mind.
@Gojeto3465 ай бұрын
I wanna say I liked it, and I know it was a smaller budgeted film, but some of the effects just took me outta the movie with how digital they looked compared to the tangible late night set. The ending “transformation” would’ve been cool if they had the money for it but it ended up kinda making me disconnect with the stakes on screen. Would love to see more original horror like this tho!!! Awesome review guys!
