Im currently looking at a pre-used Hyundai Kona Electric and a pre-used VW ID.3. Both from 2021. You have tried both, which one would you buy?

Hi! There are both positive and negative with both cars. The id.3 has great nordic design and feel and the Kona is more asian style. But the most important thing for me is the battery, both charging and degradation of it. The id.3 wins on charging speed and the Kona on battery status in the long term use. So I would buy Kona if its 2021-2023 models you are looking for.

@@EekOnRoad its those. I think i end up buying the VW ID.3, i thinking the steering and feel of driving is just a bit funnier.

I can say id.3 feels better on the road than Kona, but Kona isn't bad at all. So you choose wisely 😉

How do you check the battery health percentage?

Often we get the information from the seller, almost all ev's here in Sweden have the information when you sell the car and if they don't then you can leave the car for a short EV test. There are lots of companies that do that for approx 50 euros.

A fair bit of what you couldn’t find is in the handbook ;) There are physical buttons for the volume control, input source, track skipping etc on the stalk on right hand side. Android Auto & CarPlay need a cable connected to the USB port. It has blind spot warning.. Red LED in the wing mirror. You can set charging & preheating schedules in the app.

Thanks for the comment. We saw media stick behind the steering wheel, but we prefer buttons in the center console thats why this function still gets only 2 points from us but not 4. And it´s really great about the blind spot warning (we have to adjust the points for that) and Android Auto/Carplay that we missed, thanks for the info :-)
