How did you get the hour hand off? You said "there is a little piece and I'll get that off here quick". I have the minute hand off but when I try to pull up the hour hand it is firmly attached to the mechanism. I am trying to figure out why my pendulum won't keep swinging but I can't get the clock face off.

I thought it was something else on there like a washer or something, but I was wrong. There was no washer, and the hour hand it apparently was part of it. For your clock hands, you may have to pull hard and very gently at the same time. If not, keep using the proper tools needed to try and get them off. There may be a small piece that holds the hand in place. Maybe try making a video on it and I'll see how I could explain it

The hammer for the gong needs bending backwards a bit so the gong can resonate

It's a really cool clock! Congrats on your first Ansonia clock! The hammer sounds like it's hitting the gong too close, thus preventing the gong from vibrating. I suggest to carefully bend the hammer back a bit properly and see how that goes.
