It still amazes me, that you don't have a box blade.

i have a BX2350 with the pin on style bucket. can you get that stump attachment for the pin on loader, or would have i have to convert my loader to skid steer attach style somehow. our tractors are the same size and class, just different generations of BX, how much of what you are doing, can i do with my BX2350? i used the regular loader to take out stumps and it was time consuming, i ended up taking out more dirt then i should have to..... but it did eventually work
@ticklemeorange83283 күн бұрын
Great job with just the loader, I would have had to use my box blade :P

Perfect video! Gave me all the info needed to do this myself... Thank you. The only thing I did differently was use a piece of pvc pipe to tap seal into place. PVC pipe has a smooth edge.

Would you not take the mower off or do you leave it on to protect the hydraulic cooler fan i have a bx2200 great video's thanks just watched your video on changing hydraulic oil and filter my next job
@BiffsEquipment3 күн бұрын
Thanks Micheal! The bx2200 is a great machine! So as far as the belly mower goes.. I gotta be honest, Iv just been being lazy lately which is why I have been leaving it on for most the side jobs and work Iv been doing.. it is nice though to keep on when doing jobs in wooded areas or when clearing land because it will protect your HST fan.. but that being said I have cleared acres of land with my little bx especially in my older videos and I never use to leave the belly mower on. I even explained in the one video that I was surprised I never had an issue with breaking my HST fan.. but chalked it up to the fact that I am always very cautious about looking out for certain sticks or branches that can be forced up into it, and adjusting my driving or loader so that it pushes the branches away from the tractor and don’t go towards it.. which is how the HST fan normally gets taken out. If you go on my channel and search “Kubota bx clearing land on my property” I think you’ll find the video quite easily.. there may be a few of them but I know in one of them I mentioned it at the end and talked about it for a bit. Thanks for watching !

You need to replace those air filters if you see any dirt on the inner filter it means the outer filter is no longer effective
@BiffsEquipment3 күн бұрын
Oh yah, I’m well aware. Was gonna mention that in the video that I was ordering a new one, but due to not having one on hand I wasn’t gonna chance not running it during that dirty driveway job. I mention in another maintenance video of mine that once you see the secondary filter is no longer white then it’s time to replace it. Thanks for watching!
@MrSpliff305 күн бұрын
Typically,if the upper knuckle seal is leaking,it is because the upper bearing(or bushings on M-series) are worn and starting to have some play....if you're in there,it's a good idea to replace the bearings too(if it's in the budget)..
@BiffsEquipment3 күн бұрын
That could be.. it’s not a bad idea to replace the bearings but typically Iv found that these bearings will often last the life of the tractor because they are not driven at high speeds.. they are low speeds high load bearings and are always washed with oil.. I replaced these seals years ago and have yet to have a single leak since.. my front axle has been through a ton of work since then as well and I’m glad I no longer have leaks! Thanks for watching!

a box blade would help greatly.
@BiffsEquipment3 күн бұрын
Yes a box blade would have worked great also but I don’t own one anymore. I sold it as it was a 5’er and too cumbersome for the bx. I planned on buying a 4’er but never got around to it. Thanks for watching!

i have a BX2350, watching your videos i am learning things that i never knew my little tractor could do. i have a loader with a pin on bucket, how would i make something what you are using work with what i have.....if i ever wanted to install an inground dog fence (the type the dog gets a zap for trying to cross the boundary.
@BiffsEquipment4 күн бұрын
Thanks Andrew, im glad my videos are helping you and others, that’s a big reason why I enjoy making videos like this. So what you would need to do is go to your local Kubota dealer and tell them you’d like to purchase the skidsteer loader coupler for your tractor. They will be able to order you one for around $300-$550. I’m. It sure what the going price is currently on it but it is worth EVERY penny.. as it will GREATLY improve the versatility of your tractor for future work and projects by being able to use so many different attachments and by being able to switch attachments in seconds with the two quick lock/unlock handles. Unfortunately you will also have to buy a skidsteer capable bucket as well as your pin on bucket will no longer be able to work. But once you make the switch you’ll be set forever. Basically you will un-pin your standard bucket and will pin on the new skidsteer coupler which will then stay on your tractor indefinitely.. then you will attach your new skidsteer bucket and will be good to buy any other attachment out there that is skidsteer compatible such as the ones I use. Hope this helps!

I use a leaf blower to stoke the fire. It will burn down to nothing.

Would a box blade worked for that ? Those were moon craters, nice job 👍🏼
@BiffsEquipment3 күн бұрын
Yes a box blade would have worked good as well.. through you’d have to be careful not to dig out the larger rock/base underneath with the scarifiers. I also don’t own a box blade anymore .. I sold it because it was a 5’er and was too cumbersome for the little BX .. always planned to buy a 4’ box blade but never got around to it. Thanks for watching! New video coming this weekend!

Why not get wheels in ditch and cut straight thru once you got started?just curious if that would work
@BiffsEquipment9 күн бұрын
So because of what I was trying to do in this video it wouldn’t have worked great. For one the ground was EXTREMELY hard that year but also I was trying to keep it curved towards a specific area. Also to maintain the same grade that I had started with it was easier dig it like I did.. I wouldn’t have had nearly as much control or accuracy if I had just dug straight forward because of how hard the ground was and where I was making the trench go. Thanks for watching!

maybe you have an idea on this,,, I just bought a new Bad boy tractor maybe 4 months ago and the loader sorta goes down way too fast no matter how delicately I try to move the handle "joy stick" the dealer took it back and said nothing was wrong,, well I still had trouble with it. so I went back today,, he said I need to have the rpm's up to at least 2000 for it to work smoothly,, I tried that and it might be a little better. all the tractors I have used in the past would work fine at a normal idle.. do you thing this is actually working right?
@MrJoel12mi12 күн бұрын
a box blade with diggers dropped drown for a couple of passes to bust up the potholes and then grade it would be faster

Great video Biff. Have you considered getting a rear land plane given the amount of driveway work you do? I have one for my BX and it’s excellent on gravel.
@WVski7712 күн бұрын
Box blade would have done wonders here. I put off buying one for years and regretted it once I got one. Even though you are a master with that bucket, the blade would have made quick work of that. Even a BXpanded piranha tooth bar would make a HUGE difference in the work you do. You should consider either of those if finances allow. Great work!

I've been wondering what you have been up to! Another great video with amazingly helpful content. I never knew to about those transmission fins to clean out.
@BiffsEquipment9 күн бұрын
Thanks man! A lot of people forget or don’t know about those fins and let me tell you they get clogged with mud and grass quite easily so odds are if you havnt checked yours they prolly could use a good cleaning/blow out. When I first got my tractor mine were clogged SOLID with thick hay/grass and looked like it had been that way for a long time till I blew it out and ever since do my best to keep them clean and clear
