According to the Library of the Congress it is from 1961. According to its article on discogs.com (www.discogs.com/Dizzy-Gillespie-Art-Farmer-Ralph-Gleasons-Jazz-Casual/release/11471864): "original air date: January 17, 1961"

I think the interviewer is Ralph Gleason, co-founder of Rolling Stone magazine.

Bets quote I've hear from dizzy is that he would pick Louis Armstrong as his agricultural minister if he was elected president because he apparently "knows all about growing things."

Wired lapel microphones were large back then. They remained that size until the mid 1970s.
