Assassin's Creed Shadows is the biggest letdown of the year. When Ubisoft announced this game, I thought we’d get a fresh take on the franchise, but instead, it feels like a rushed, uninspired attempt to cash in on the AC name. All my friends from high school who were die-hard fans of the series? Not one of them will even touch this game anymore-and after playing it, I can see why. Even all my friends from high school, who happen to be Black, have voiced how much they hate the concept of this game. They pointed out how poorly it's executed and how it feels out of touch with what fans really want from the series. And let’s talk about the forced push for a female lead role-it’s getting old. I get that diversity is important, but when it’s done in such a shallow, token way, it’s just frustrating. This isn't just about *Assassin's Creed Shadows*-look at *Star Wars Outlaws*. That game bombed hard, and the forced narrative of a female protagonist with no depth didn’t help. It feels like they’re just inserting female leads for the sake of it.
