I have a Disabled freedom pass for London now that's a bus pass to end all bus passes in England as somebody should put the most powerful bus pass to the least powerful one. I think London would top the table compared to my sister's (lancashire county) equivalent

We did this trip from Southend Pier several years ago.......Never again The boat was jam packed, to a dangerous extent in my mind. We didn't take any food as we thought we could get some on the boat. There was none available. I had to queue for ages to get a drink and a packet of crisps. Four hours each way, we were starving by the time we got back to Southend.

25 years RN, ex killing muppet ( minewarfare ), and this was my last ship as a crash draft. Joined in Salalah, Oman, a week after the twin towers in New York came down. We did exercise Saif Sareea 2 in the Gulf of Oman before bringing her home to Pompey. I did 18 years RFA as a Deckhand Sg1a after the Navy. Glutton for punishment 😂😂😂😂 I've still got the t-shirt from that trip in my wardrobe. It no longer fits me.😢

As long as they travel humanly and in good conditions there is no problem. The vast majority of these stupid people don't understand the system, they have been fed a diet of pure bullshit.

And note they are using two tugs to bring them into harbor. Why did Baltimore Port require tug escort??

Gotta be careful with that big thing ,especially around bridges in major US ports. It could really do a number on the economy if you’re not careful with it. Good thing they have professional pilots driving those big ships.

That brings back memories. Many years ago I was half owner of one of these. We bought her from the original owners in Denmark who had owned it from being new in 1908. Ours had a wheelhouse with a small galley behind. What a great boat they are in every respect, built like a tank and in the open ocean with the sails set and the wheel tied off it would maintain it's course for hours on end. Ours, the Anna Marie, was fitted with a two cylinder B&W Apha diesel, no gearbox but a variable pitch propeller which was also reversible. It was an antiquated system but great in it's own way. However we later fitted a 6 cylinder Mercedes diesel with a conventional gearbox. That was so much more reliable but we had lost the wonderful Puckata - Puckata sound of the old one. Happy day's, well mostly.

I have been long retired from the service, but I find it a little strange that I have never heard about this and of course why are these vids appearing now The Elder Brethren have always been stuck in the past when it came to industrial relations, but for the first strike to take place on their watch does not surprise me As a retired staff member, I find the neglect of its former staff quite puzzling, they are charged with the welfare of ex mariners, and give the most charitable funds to these causes, however, its the case of the cobbler's kids are always the worst shod, they could think about at least sponsoring a staff association so we could have a get-together once a year,, and tell a few old sea tales over a glass or two

To be honest, buses should be free in the same way as the NHS. Roads are paid for through general taxation and most are free at the point of use, in spite of how expensive they are to maintain. People need to be able to get out and get to work, shopping, errands and generally just to be able to socialize. That is worth paying increased taxes for, although with the number of cars that would remove from our roads our bill for maintaining and expanding wide roads would come down anyway! Before having my bus pass, I felt kind of limited with the high cost of living in where I could go, now between my bike and my bus pass, I can go wherever I want without having to pay to clog and chew the roads up further by putting another car on them! And all of the businesses other than the bus companies benefit from me being able to go spend money that woud just have went to the greedy, monopolistic Worst- um First Glasgow bandits!
