Beautiful and great through and through. The playing is beyond magnificent, and such a wonderful occasion.

I believe this was recorded on the occasion of Larry's 80th birthday celebration. Amazingly, his appearance hasn't changed much since I met him in 1959, when he was a PhD student and teaching assistant at Harvard.

The recital was fantastic! I really love his performance, it seems like you know him since long time ago, do you know where I could find more info about professor Laurence Berman? From your comments, do you mean he taught at Harvard before, was he a professor of Department of Music in Harvard University ?Thanks!

@@ruijiachen8486 In case you are still interested after four years (my apologies), Larry was an undergraduate and graduate student at Harvard as well as a teaching assistant, not on the faculty. In 1959 he was writing a Ph.D. dissertation on Debussy, which he completed by 1962. He then taught for a year at Earlham College in Indiana and then at U. Mass, Boston, where he was head of the music department for a time. He has published two books investigating the question of "meaning" in music. As you can see in the video, he has gathered hundreds of devoted friends over the years.
