Great video, very informative and visual, thank you! I have a question: what to do if you aspirate blood - do you change the carpule with a new one or do you continue to use that carpule? Is the anesthetic still effective if there is a little blood in the carpule?
@OnlineExodontia
@OnlineExodontia Жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks for watching! If you get blood in the syringe you should withdraw slightly and reorient then aspirate again. The carpule is fine and can be injected. The anesthetic won’t be affected. All the best!

Thanks! You can draw a straight line from the canine downward and use it as a guide to give your injection

Hi I am indian dentist using short needle.can we bend that needle at hub area for giving pdl INJECTION. Some dentists i see here is bending needle at 90 deggree distal to hub for pdl INJECTION. Is it right way or is it effectivefor pdl INJECTION?I am confused.pls reply

You can certainly Bend the needle for PDL injections. It works ok, but sometimes a 30 gauge needle is a bit weak. To counteract this you can use a 30 gauge short needle and you can still put a bend on it if needed. All the best!

I am a board-certified oral maxillofacial surgeon and this is not how you do a V2 block.

Tim - much appreciated for your comment - are you able to elaborate on what you do differently to ensure the accuracy of this content? Thanks and all the best to you!

being a board certified omfs doesnt mean anything. ive seen pretty shitty work from oral surgeons. if you want to correct his technique give a description of what you would do differently. giving us ur title wont help. stay humble. thank you

Actually being board certified DOES mean everything. Its so poorly trained probably out of the country mediocre docs like you who resort to four letter words are weeded out!

A V2 block is most easily done by finding the GP canal and passing the needle to 90% of the length. Thats the only way to know the tip is at the PT ganglion. Your technique may often work, but witjout a bony stop landmark, its potentially missable

Hi there ..excellent video thank you ...do you not touch the bone when you infiltrate in the maxilla?
@localanesthetic
@localanesthetic 2 жыл бұрын
I never touch the bone on an infiltration as this is not necessary and would make the injection more uncomfortable for the patient. All the best and thanks for watching!

Don't ever go straight to the palate or it will be very painful. Start from the facial central papilla and apply pressure and the patient won't feel a thing since you've already done local infiltration, then after that you can go ahead and inject the palate
@Busybeeee
@Busybeeee Жыл бұрын
Do you start by infiltrating central incisors?
@localanesthetic
@localanesthetic Жыл бұрын
If you're looking to improve patient comfort, then yes you can do that, wait a few minutes, then insert via the buccal aspect of the papilla and slowly advance depositing the anesthetic until the palatal tissue have blanched. Once complete, then you can do the technique shown.

What is the purpose of bowing the needle? Thanks
@localanesthetic
@localanesthetic 2 жыл бұрын
Matt- bowing the needle is a minor detail, however it allows you to apply pressure to the tissue, then as you lean the needle upwards, the bevel will just slightly pierce the tissue making the injection more comfortable. All the best!

Is aspirating something with self- aspirating
@localanesthetic
@localanesthetic 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delay. Both types of syringes work for aspirating. Research shows you'll get more positive aspirations using a manual aspirating syringe, but they both work. All the best!
