This was my favourite trail, I used to go almost every Sunday. You soon get fit riding this once a week I can confirm. Anything under 2 hours is reasonable, but if you're getting close to an hour and a half, you are really going some. The 4 mile black section (used for the 2010 world cup XC) is great, and you can tag that onto the 23 mile red, for some more challenging technical track.

It's definitely built for a fitness trail with some features to keep you entertained along the way. Great challenging XC trail 👍

This is such a refreshing video and a great video edit, thank you for sharing. 😊 KUDOS! 🤙🏼 So brilliantly explained, and I thank you as Dean Trail Volunteers' passion for MTB is always shown on each trail dig. 🤩 Whether creating new trails such as Flatlands or Twisted Sister or simply maintaining trails with TLC and occasionally removing those dastardly “pebbles” that build up on the Berms. 😉 I have learned so much with them, it’s so nice for you to give them a shout-out. 🙌🏼 Thank You, and Happy Trails, my friend. 🤙🏼

@@SearchMTB You are most welcome, my friend. 😊 I cannot wait for you to see what is happening to "Boneyard", with Berms I hope will make your eyes water. 🥹 Also, a new trail is being made by DTV in 2025 that will connect to "Boneyard". We just walked some speculative lines last week and it gave me goosebumps. 😊

Being local I’ve ridden these numerous times and still find them tough although tbf I’m not getting any younger. Was hoping you’d try Nazi Gold as that is as steep and gnarly as it gets and it would have been interesting to see (or hear) your reaction. Good bit of single track (especially on an ebike) getting there as well. You can also go through a sheep dip at the bottom under the A9 (if you can find it) and cross a field, under a railway bridge and your at Loch Vaa where it’s great for a wee swim. You can then cycle round it and find one of the many trails back to Aviemore.

@SearchMTB I believe they are literally called Blue taster, Red taster etc. The bottom of them where you go thru the 3 tunnels was closed for ages so you could do loads of laps without going to the car park, now I think they're open again

rode dalbeattie a few times back in the day with my old club - the woollybacks. we used to go up for a weekend once a year and do dalbeattie on the friday. have to admit to a wry smile when you thought you had done the slab, and it was just the qualifier. been down in the wet and stopping at the bottom is a challenge. are the terrible twins still there? that was harder than the slab imo.

Too much pressure on a seatpost? Really? You forgot that sitting a 80kg boddy on it is much more force (not a pressure btw) on a seatpost?
@SearchMTB
@SearchMTB 8 ай бұрын
There is a difference between sitting on a seat post as it is designed to do and trying to bend one in half as towing a bike attached to the seat and pulling it backwards. In my opinion, If you have used one for towing and not had any issues then please let me know?

They are improving as they go. 1st time I went there were no berms! Next visit they had added them. Helicopters are expensive to move material and they took advantage of WC improvements to put material on the hill. Build team is pretty small. Expert bikers are few in number so it makes sense to make cash from average folk. I took my Nephew and he loved it. Still enough for me to enjoy. You can get in 9 runs and lunch and afternoon tea if you don't hang about. If you have never been to Alps then it would be good Training.
