I would like to K-swap my smart roadster as well. but I do not really know where to start and what i’m beginning. Could you maybe provide me with as list of the things that i have to take into consideration and things i really need to know? the more detailed te better offcourse thanks in advance Kind regards!

Sorry but You will hear from me: “buy a different car” specially if you are plan to use it as a street legal, not a track toy. Cost of everything is higher than to buy RWD like GT86 and modified it. You need to consider that stock engine subframe and suspension have to be change. Stock one is made from paper. Then you need to modify front suspension, brakes, convert the 3 wheel screws to something which can hold higher power. And then you are standing at the point that you spent so much money and so much time that no one will give you back.

Oryginalną kierownica pocięta i przerobiona na tokarce. Ale SPARCO ma w swojej ofercie niby do smarów.

Sporo za dużo, ale nigdy nie liczyłem. generalnie kupisz w tych pieniądzach gotowe auto do sportu bez konieczności rzeźbienia i wkurzania się, że coś nie działa jak byś chciał...

@@tkrmotosport7345 Problem jest taki, że już mam roadsterka i zastanawiam się teraz co zrobić żeby to jakoś jechało :D Samo podniesienie mocy do 100km praktycznie nic nie dało przez tą skrzynię

guessing that doing an engine swap is not the big challenge....not screwing up the suspension geometry/performance is a different one...a bit more difficult

Yes I did. -2 front -2,5 rear.

@@FouldsMouldsLtd If you have -6. While braking it's change to -6,5 or even more depend of your suspension stiffness. Then just a part of the tire is contact with the ground. Less surface of the tire touching the asphalt. That's mean less friction that's mean less braking force. So camber higher than 3 deg. is for tuning not performance :)

It Weighs a lot more. Smart engine plus gearbox is only 60kg. It needs a proper highly tuned original engine with 1.0liter strokes and bigger turbo with reinforced parts with lighter materials and a very light gearbox with sequential command.

@@carlito1777 Let me calculate it roughly: original curb weight is 820kg .... If the Honda engine+gearbox is 150kg more ... it must remain still under 1 metric ton.

what gear shifter did you use? and did you have to make the cables to a uturn or did it fit propperly?

It was from accord VII with cables. At the gearbox I had to reweld mounting on the other side to have correct directions.

@@tkrmotosport7345 I have also a roadster coupe. I'm thinking often if that U shaped de-dion can be cut in half and remounted whit a joint and so can imitate a double wishbone suspension...
