I actually never hated Abby and, unlike Ellie, I personally wasn't out for revenge during the game. As we knew that Joel had done a lot of questionable things in his past, I was certain that Abby had to have a very good reason (not that I'd condone such an act of violence). It was hard to see how Ashley Johnson and Laura Bailey were struggling during the shoot of that scene. Amazing how well these performances can be brought to life in a video game and I think it's vitally important for the story's impact. The shot at 36:00 looks really great. Her eye catching the sunlight, the reddish tint of her ear, and all that in engine. Interestingly, the remaster did not really change the visuals that much. Better textures, further drawing distance, and a number of subleties in fidelity mode. In performance mode I didn't really notice any improvements tbh. It already looked that stunning in the original. 40:00 They actually give you multiple chances to find items you missed (training manuals, weapons, bombs/mines, holsters). They'll show up later in more or less obvious spots. The map of downtown in particular cannot be missed. The game won't let you enter the main gate's code 0512 unless you picked up the note with the gate codes. And you won't get that note before you've picked up the map from one of the drawers behind the main gate. The first one you open will have it. I guess, they really, really want Ellie to be able to mark all those places of interest.

Such a great game. My first playthroughs were absolutely magical for me. Interesting to see a game devs perspective on this. :) Speaking of sound design. I wonder why listen mode is even a thing in this game. The audio is so good that you can actually get a good grip on where the enemies are. I'd really like to hear their reasoning for it. (And coming from a long history with Counter Strike, it always felt weird to me. We'd just ban people who were able to see through walls. 😅) By the way, the clicker at 1:20:15 was echolocating you. ;) While Tess in part 1 actually tells Ellie about this mechanic, it's just hinted at here by showing us how the clicker reacts after Ellie and Dina crash into the room. It only gets agitated after it had echolocated them by means of its "bark". It seems though that that wasn't a thing they could do in the original 2013 game despite Tess telling us about it. But I've never played that, started with the part 1 remake myself. (Sorry if I'm telling you something you already knew. It's just that I've seen a lot of people getting confused about this.)

Speedrunning this game is amazing! I learned a trick where if you stand in front of fast moving NPCs they will push you in front of them at their own increased speed. It’s also fun to sort of test to try to outclever the developers with what they call “clever use of game mechanics”. 😆

As a lifetime gamer one mistake I find devs do is not focusing enough on telling a really good story. TLoU put story first and I think that really helped a lot.

Hey shadow just an idea maybe make a pool about it but maybe do like hour and half videos or 2 hour vids to progress in game quicker amd not to drag series to long or maybe go back to old 1 hour ish long vids if people and you like to make series last longer personaly for me i enjoy watching about 2 hours long but same time like to game last bit longer i hope you will get more attention in future as you amazing content creator :3
