Taxation is extortion. This whole real estate valuation process is just a sham and a rubber stamp exercise. In most counties, if not all, real estate valuations are based in part on "market value". "Market values" with rare exception, only move upwards and they are a reflection of many variable inputs. Those on fixed incomes are especially hit hard as property taxes increase. Only one commissioner (Ms. Thompson) voiced any concern at all with the process. That is telling. Politicians only know one thing: tax and spend. Can anyone follow the double speak explanation that the presenter was giving? starting at 27:30? Ask yourself, when is the last time your property tax bill rate or tax bill decreased? Americans need to realize they do not ever own their homes. They are lifelong renters who must pay the government's rent bill each year, to remain in their home.
