I do the same burn-in period. I set it very loud, and I go to bed. And I go to work. And I take the headphones off. Before I go to bed, I start the burn-in again. I think the HarmonicDyne Eris will hit hard on my Rupert Neve RNHP amplifier. If I want to pull the mid-range up, I could use my class A amplifier. I also want fun headphones. That is the reason I have the Audioquest Nighthwaks and the Ultrasone Pro 900i. I wonder how the HarmonicDyne Eris will fair against my Ultrasone and Denon AH-D7200. Both are the reference for bass.

The first Chinese clone that I bought was a Knobsound Class A JLH 1969 10w amp about 8 years ago. It still sounds amazing and gets a go with my clone Diatone speakers. What I need is to quickly swap between different amps. This looks like what I have been looking for. Many thanks.

The Chinese clone market is a complete game changer for someone like me that does not have endless money to spend on high end audio equipment. It has revolutionised DIY PA sound system with power amps now at affordable prices with amazing quality, right down to AirPods and other smaller items. You channel deserves to be up there with some of the big boys. I'm sure in time people will wise up, algorithm permitting.

My Modhouse Tungstens are Plugged into it RIGHT NOW, as we speak. I have been listening to this and a Heavily preamped (I preamp both with 60v from my SPL Phonitor that I route all my Amps through) SMSL SP400 which gives me the R2R experience and IMO is a both superior and cheaper alternative to the Benchmark HPA4 and they are both Phenomenal tech that will not break the bank. I have been listening to a lot of Chesky Records Binaural Recording stuff that I dug up on an old HD this week, and they have different intangible takes on the music, This one I prefer for older music, Acoustic, folk, Motown, and older Jazz, rock, and psychedelia , the SP400 more for Rap/Pop/EDM/Nujazz Movies/Anime and Gaming. That being said they are both quite powerful and have no obvious gaps in any of the technicalities with incredible range and either choice could be a stand alone one and done solution, but for most the slight edge goes to this amp because of the more powerful Gain Stages hidden in those Dip Switches. Additionally if I get froggy I will probably use this amp as a Modding Platform long before I get rid of it, Swapping Out, Blending and Matching OpAmps/caps/resistors and seeing how much I could tune it up with how little $$$ in an effort to gain further understanding.

@Djimbe does the Accurate HPA A281 have that thicker tube like sound that the V281 is loved for? Thanks for sharing your experience!
@Djimbe4 ай бұрын
@@rbsorg It is definitely part of why I prefer it for the Genre that I do - I would say that its like 90% of the Original in that aspect - but also that that is why I feel like it had slightly better dynamics so your kick has a TOUCH more authority - but yeah, its definitely my most Ethereal listen Warm, Airy - like being wrapped Up in an Alpaca Blanket that is also a Jazz Club - less of that Discotheque/Rave feeling. If my ramblings are making any sense? Sound is hard to define...

Love your charm, and energy!!!! But how is isolation? edit: I ended up getting the HE-R9. I LOVE them!!! but I will get the R7DX this month hopefully as well.
@Djimbe5 ай бұрын
Well the WORST issue these have is the Headband, As it comes in the box there will be no Isolation and NO Bass - HOWEVER the Bass IS there! Buuuuuttt... You gotta Bend that Headband like Beckham never Knew Bending could Bend - AND THEN SOME! Like far past the point that you think you would break them. You Wont. The Spring steel will actually loop in the middle without breaking. THEN go get a pair of Needle-Nosed Pliers and bend the band as close to the cups as possible right above the little circles behind the bar that pops out. - but still on the leather bit - BEYOND 90 degrees. I was wrong in the review when I said that they had no bass - I found this out by laying down in them and then subsequently simply pressing the cups inward with my index fingers and then releasing them - so apparently (after a bout another week of experimentation) its just that you MUST BEND THEM and they get SO GOOD in the Low End! Not to mention that they start Isolating then! Its not that the Low End is rolling off it is literally just the HB - its a bad thing for Hifiman that they shipped like this b/c they are SO improved by ClampForce! HOWEVER they are SO cheap now b/c of this oversight that you can take advantage of the Price Drop! There are also AliExpress aftermarket HeadBands that ppl like that dont cost much at ALL and you can replace the thing altogether in under 10 min including cleanup if you want to go that route. All In All they are FAR more than worth the pickup if you are willing to be merciless w/the headband. That being done. these punch WAAAY above their price point!

Does the lack of padding on the headband feel uncomfortable after a while? I'm bald so top-of-the-head comfort is a concern.
@Djimbe5 ай бұрын
As you can see Im also Band and you cant even feel the headband. Im not even sure that the the whole thing weighs enough to make any of the pressure be anywhere but directly on your ears - the Clamp Force needed for them to sound good is greater than the force needed to support them. They are supremely comfortable in this regard

Hey! We are in Novi Sad/Veternik! Need you to teach us how to do the Direct Importing thing - the Fees are a KILLER here! Three years of doing reviews has taken its Toll, for sure! How do you like them?
@mladen50165 ай бұрын
@@Djimbe I only imported from Koss. Since it was bellow 50 EUR, no fees were applied. I couldn't find the Kph40 in Serbia, so I tried directly from the Koss website. It was a pretty straightforward thing. Be careful if you order over 50 Euros, you pay double in fees and if the Fedex or DHL are involved, they apply their own fees...
@mladen50165 ай бұрын
@@Djimbe Not much to it, really. I ordered these, because they are not available locally. I tried directly from Koss, ans I don't usually do that. It's mostly from Ebay. I had the KPH30i and I prefer these. They are too good for the price.
