It knows its name and meows from where ever it is to tell me that it there. It knows to come to my room and wake me up to tell me it wants to go to its litter box which is kept in the back unused old kitchen and door needs opened. It knows to play in the garden chasing grass hoppers, bugs etc. It can understand words like fridge, sleep, up. Fridge means food in her mind. "Go to sleep" - she will put her head on where ever she is lying and pretend sleep. She does this only in good mood.

My black cat LOVES to knock things off of countertops. He especially loves to do it when he wants me to do something like feed him. It also seems that he enjoys if just for fun. Both of my cats do all of these things with me or to me. I do think that middle of the night zoomies are funny. I've had dogs, horses, mules and even Alpacas do the zoomies. Even though you didn't talk about it, many animals also like to do "flippy flops" as I call them.

My Tabby shocked me by opening up a drawer in kitchen and bringing me his leash. Plus he could open doors and tried to warn me seriously not to leave for work 40 mins before the CA Whittier/ Narrows earthquake. He was amazingly intelligent and I loved him deeply. Unfortunately, I moved to AZ and the people I dtayed with for a short time got rid of him while I was at work. I never got over it. I don't know what they did to him and I thought he ran away and got lost. I was devistated.😢

They think very similar to us but without a deep understanding of language and certain complex concepts. They do have a basic sense of humour. Their thoughts aren't much different to ours. Just less complex in certain ways. They don't understand how to read or write but they do understand what words mean. Another example they don't understand the need to learn to drive but they understand you do and just accept it. You use machines to perform tasks around the house so they don't find it unusual that you drive a car, they just can't understand the point of driving. To them it doesn't make sense but they've seen you do it so it's just something you you do to them. Same with television they know you watch it they do with you too but you understand what is happening they just see you watching it and accept it. They express their desires and opinions normally through body language because they don't talk so they've never evolved to understand language.

😅minou knows that the back door leads to his cat box and even acts diplomatically towards popi my dog 😅. He turns into a monster cat when other cats come to fight with him and runs to me for help because he just turned 8 months animal years. He behaves like a 4 year old toddler

I have only 1 cat now. He is affectionate and friendly. Last week i was pickinh up dried clothes from the clothes line on my balcony n minou my cat wanted to show me ethusiastically how easy it is to jump from one side to another and well i was standing in between n he instead fell down on his feet. My! He was upset and he was even funny about it 😅 he stretched his paw to beat me up for oreventing him from reaching the other side successfully. Minou understands the meaning of a french word "gateau" and "sardines" and consoles me when i am sad or upset. He knows i need him then. But he also cuddles up a lot. He loves the daily cuddles and talks to him every morning n evening. I never explored this before. Minou was a surprise birthday gift with his 3 siblings who have been stolen. He was left alone unexpectedly. Thats y I talk to him all the time. I wish i could take him for rides for shopping in the car and for walks too. People tend to upset and beat up cats and illtreat them. If you cant love a kitty better never to adopt any kitty. Because a kitty isnt just a furry friend but an angel sent by God for us to forget woes and sadness worries and fears loneliness and bad past experiences too.

True for cats too: A friend of my brother’s, trying to rehome his dog, gave this reason: Hey man, this dog’s too smart for his own good. I don’t want no smart dog. Give me a dumb dog any day. The smart ones, they’re too much trouble, always gettin’ into stuff. I want me a dumb dog. Nice and quiet. No hassles.

I like this channel so glad I found it! I have some very clever cats, I have a cat that can open zip lock cans of food! My ginger male learned to steal the small cans of food and he DROPS them from the top of the cat stand and some how he pushes the lids in. The only reason I know he drops them from the top of the stand is I walked in one day while the crime was in progress...btw his nick name is Sleazy Cheesy Lemon Squeezy and he's a thief.

Mr. "I was a child prodigy at 3" (AKA my ex-husband) didn't find our kitty so smart; he thought she had a brain the size of a walnut & I guess they thought back then that size mattered more in brain activity than they do now. Tiny little squirrels have brains & they're too clever for anyone's good.

The fact that cats are intelligent isn't a surprise to me just to people that feel that they are superior to all non human beings and some human beings as well, that tells me that people like that are out of their dang minds.

We have a 13 yr old ginger boy named Alfred who is very intelligent. I have a very large abdominal hernia that causes great pain and nausea when it bulges out. When that happens, I have to lay on the bed and my husband has to push it back in. Alfred kitty has learned that when I'm crying out in pain and laying down, he jumps up on me and sits, right where my hernia is. It's like he's assisting my husband! 😽😽😽

Opens cupboard doors. Comes when you say come here. Trots faster when you say hurry up. Stops at open doors, not running out.Digs her favorite toy out of the basket. Knows when it's brushing, meal and treat time. Learning to shake hands. She was found by a dumpster in February, trying to paw up frozen garbage. Only 3 months old. Now, my rescue girl is 11, and a joy every day!

When my cat was a kitten she would take the stopper out of the sink. I stopped up the sink, but saw her carrying it in her mouth later. I stopped up the sink again and watched. She figured out how to unstop the sink with her paw and take the stopper out.

I have a 17-year-old kitty whom I deeply and dearly love, but she is not exactly what I would call a “clever” cat. To be completely honest, she’s always been a little bit on the dim side, and this video doesn’t really do much of anything to change my mind. She does tick some of the boxes, though - she’s fairly emotionally sensitive to my needs, and has decent observational skills and interacts pretty consistently well with her environment. She’s not *stupid*, or anything. But I’d never delude myself into thinking she’s particularly intelligent, even for a cat. Doesn’t have a whole lot to do with her being an awesome cat, or how much I love her, though.

I have 4 cats….. from uninterested in hoomans. And one that is brilliant… with one right behind. My 4th cat is a mixed bag. Hard to judge. She was abandoned, but she was almost a year old. She adopted me when she was about 11. I’ve spent a little over $1000 on medical bills the first two years. Shots, check ups, flea and tick, and the best food. This little lady is going no place, nightmares of her life on the street are still with her. She’s extremely affectionate, almost too much, and she loves sitting in your lap. But all of her fears make things difficult for her.
