Hi Helicopter fans! I discovered what was "key" to my getting my choppers to work proper, instead of porposing up and down like a drunk! When I set up the flight I choose my chopper, then livery, then I discovered at the bottom was another listing, forgot right now but in there it has 3 sliders. I moved mine to 60plus and wow, I can fly now without looking like a tard. Finally, because Ive had my Cowansimulation MD500e sitting in the hangar for a year now. SO, hope that helps another frustrated chopper pilot who had problems making them work. Oh, and I set the in cockpit cyclic trim to 0 or a bit down, forward. All good, cheers!

Flying the heli is easy to me. SEnsitivities settings seem confusing as I cannot get the 407 or my MD500e to behave. Its like a drunk flying it. Im lost...help? Sensitivities seem to be 0 to 78 depending on pilot. I just cant get it. I even neutralized my in cockpit trim control....

Thank you for making this. The MSFS default helicopters seem to be too easy to fly. I fly in VR and this mod makes it amazing again.

I have this setup with the R44. In the cockpit I can click on buttons etc and they work but it doesn't see my Virpil cyclic or collective but it does recognize my Honeycomb Bravo for throttle. I have them setup in MSFS and work on MSAFS helicopters. Any help would be great.

The flight dynamics are so bad in flight sim, it’s not even close to flying a helicopter.

I'm new to the MSFS and I am flying the Bell Jet Ranger on there but one thing I'm stuck on is how do I know where to go (i pick an airport to fly from and to land at but I don't know where to go) and also how can I start up the Jet Ranger myself as I've seen videos of this happening?? Thanks

How am I suppose to take helicopters seriously when their cockpit isn't shaking from vibrations. Haven't the developers been in a real helicopter? Especially this small.

Hi. Could you please share your experience on the sticks ability to return back to center after cutting the spring. I have stock spring, but it sometimes is unwilling to get back to zero point on Y-axis. So I am worried this could make it even worse. Or maybe I should ask for exchange, as it is still under warranty...

Fred, I have a question about the UH-1H Huey Iroquois model you're working on. I believe I loaded everything properly (msfs community folder, copying config file to profile of AirlandFS). But when I add max power from my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick (via the x-slider control) the helicopter power doesn't increase as it should. Wondering what I'm doing wrong. Help !! Thanks! FYI, I did release the parking brake.

Thank you for this video! It was helpfull for me. Im also using Thrustmaster joystick like you have, i just have model with separate throttle (T.16000M FCS). I assigned collective to that throttle axis, and also i assigned helicopter throttle to that little slider on bottom of my joystick. Some of people here suggested you should do new helicopter profile from scratch, but i think the way you did by deleting unnecessary axes or buttons was better. And i also did this way following your tutorial.

Hi Fred,i am french ,my best wisches for this year,but à have à probleme with airland except that my jostick configuration works for everyone helico,when i switch to the h125 nothing,works Anymore, yet the 125 is well hacker in airland,have a solution for that please,thanks
@airlandsim10 ай бұрын
Bonjour, AirlandFS was released before MSFS supported helicopters, you should use the aircraft controls settings not the helicopter ones, just add a specific control setting for the H125 for aileron, rudder etc... I hope this helps !

Thank you for this. I initially reviewed this device and stated that it was very uncomfortable flying helicopters because of how strong the springs are. Thank you for this fix. Unfortunately the twist motion is also very strong for rudder control. Wondering if you have looked into this as well.....

I'm going to stick with your whole tutorial set because I like your style. But I think your joystick trim assignment section was confusing. Telling us the left/right reverse buttons of the button assignments you want us to assign was hard to follow. Especially because you aren't consistent in the left/right reversal pattern. But I replayed it a few times and got it right. However to me (who has never tried flying helis) your trim assignments were not intuitive. In the center column of the joystick pad you assign the top button to trim backwards and the bottom button to trim forwards. I reversed those assignments. Then you use the right two buttons to trim right (top key) and left (bottom key). Instead I moved left trim to the lower left key and right trim to the lower right key. Laying these four trim keys out in the direction I want to move is much more intuitive to me. Otherwise, I'm excited to keep learning this new type of aircraft from you. Thank you.

I love flying this helo, I got it as soon as I could. I love the complexity of the flight model and how it has transferred into the sim. As soon as I see any release from Toag's Hangar I know the helo's will be on point and fly as expected. Great work behind the scenes on it and all merit to you and Toag on such a great helo product, that whilst some may not have known about fully beforehand, by getting it and flying it within the sim will create more fans of this little helicopter. Do you know if there are any plans to redo the Huey using the native MSFS helo controls, or whether the SA-342 Gazelle could be on the cards?

Hi Fred, I did not know you were so active behind the scenes. Very good to hear :) I started learning to fly helicopters in MSFS with AirlandFS before SU11. Great to see how far helicopters have come in this sim. And it looks like MSFS2024 will bring even more goodies for us rotorheads.

every time when this guy says "thousand feet per second" it hurts me, because i cant take him like as instructor. First time i was thinking, that was a slip, but i am at this 4-th episode and he is still sayin that :D Looking forward when he realize that its not "per second." But otherwise his other instructor skills are nice...
