This is called the Sparring Mode where you can play 1v1 2v2 3v3..than there is a mode called the Guantlet mode the game is cool..😎😎

So the original game was call just final fantasy dissidia which had the 1v1 mode which then had an expansion called final fantasy dissida duodicem which added more characters and more content it became the definitive way to play the game

@killermemestar5515 ohh gotcha, so this version that we play is now called "dissidia final fantasy NT version" which allows for different modes including sparring mode with 1v1 2v2 and 3v3 now as well as other modes like the gauntlet and story mode(hopefully that answers your question XD)
