I can appreciate sonic unleashed because it's far more difficult and offers really good tech for speedrunners (drift makes you feel like you're actually sonic, m speed and d speed are insane) has a far better ranking system, and longer levels All this can make me appreciate sonic unleashed Sonic generations has far more polish, has better controls, better level design for the most part, but has no sense of wildness to it... i really can't describe it in any other way. Sonic unleashed has more consequences for messing up, has far more loose controls and focuses on momentum for stuff like stomp. Like, of COURSE you're slippery, youre the fastest thing around! And when you control that slipperyness? It just feels great and honestly feels like you're the fasstest thing alive I love the broken drift in unleashed LOL

I gotta say, in my opinion, ambition matter in the case of sonic forces, cause it was the next game since generations, and that was 6 years apart, so rightfully players wanted something big, really big, and forces marketed itself as being ambitious storywise but the game failed on gameplay and story departments, ambition doesn't matter if execution isnt there, and both games failed at this in different ways

Holy crap I played sonic 06 i was crashing out the bosses good story eh I rather play sonic forces because the camera sucks animation sucks and i played on the ps3 it sucks I could have had sonic unleashed over sonic 06 but my cousin said its better so I trusted him but I’m not trusting anymore that made me crash out so many times the light speed oh my f### god I crashed so many times on that and tails oh hell no

Ignore him, he has a skill issue, there are methods of overcoming it’s obstacles, sonic may be slippery but you can literally use that to your advantage to slide off of walls and keep momentum going Generations physics and controls are actually too tight for level design that’s relatively open, and same with classic sonic Yeah the homing attack and air boost is mapped to the same button but that’s not nearly as problematic cause A you can tell when your about to home attack and B you said SA2 was your favourite sonic game and that game has more then 5 different moves mapped to the same button so this just makes you look like a hypocrite Level design with unleashed is linear because it’s the fastest sonic game of all time and replay value is the strong point of the boost game, simply try again and learn from your mistakes This guy has skill issue clearly cause his complaint is level design not making sense and unfinished layouts, and levels like cool edge, roooftop run and jungle joyride are actual original stages, amazing music and actual challenging level design

Sonic unleashed is 5x better

Think with me if both of these games game out finished, which one would've been better? 06 or forces, which would've added more and be more impressive, it comes to show what priorities each game had, 06 had 2 years of development and came out buggy and messy, the other came uninspired, but in a more stable state, I will always love 06 more cause it was meant to be

I agree that smash online is absolute trash... but I wish there were more videos stating how Smash 5's campaign mode is utter trash as well. I see 0 videos discussing how the campaign mode of this game is trash. This game is utter trash in every way unless you have real life friends to play with.

Not sure if this counts, but... I think you forgot the progression. While some of the missions in Gens are downright atrocious(Especially *that one* in Rooftop Run), There are others that are fun and feel fast without ruining the pacing. Whereas in Unleashed, there are Sun and Moon medals scathered thoughout each day level that force you to stop, and the worst part is: THEY'RE OBLIGATORY TO PROGRESS!! Which makes the game tedious as fuck. I swear, this is something the Unleashed fanboys don't aknowledge and it angers me beyond sensibility.

Do generations controls worse you see turning in a circle is possible when you're playing unleashed but turning in a circle in generations is it's almost impossible but instead of Sonic goose running in a circle he literally just moves left and right

Generations is great if you enjoy 2d gameplay, not so much if you want 3d gameplay. Its basically sonic colors 2.0. Level design is so much better in Unleashed as it keeps a majority of the gameplay in 3d, hell the werehog has no 2d sections at all.

I was with you till you said sonic is too fast and that unleashed is too hard/unfair Having skill issues isn't something you should feel bad about but I'm not going to pretend you're right to spare your feelings. I can agree that you prefer Generations but to call it better due to basically being easier is ignorant. Maybe you had better points after those remarks but your credibility was lost to me by then, thanks for the entertainment though.

I know i am very late to the party and this video may not even reflect your current views on the Sonic franchise today but i just want to say that i agree with a lot of the opinions here, Potential/Ambition means nothing if you can't do anything with it However my problem with the video is that, as you pointed out yourself, a lot of the arguments against 06 can very be turned against Forces whether is it for level design, playable characters or story. You can't simply tell me that Forces had no ambition in its conception with all the trailers, concept art, it's premise of Eggman finally taking over the world,all the returning villains and Infinite as a character. There was a clear motivation to make something big with this game but its execution fell flat on it's face Forces may not be a buggy mess of a game that's frustrating to go through but at it's very core it is a creatively bankrupt game that just feels like a waste of your time after you're done with it and might i personally add just feel like an insult to the Sonic series in every regard with its hallway level design, re-used assets, misleading fan-service and story that can't bother to take itself seriously. Sonic Forces taking the "safe" route does not save it from being bad. And one last thing i want to add, I have never understood why the sonic community is debating over which game is worse, it's like comparing dog shit to horse shit. Sure one might smell worse than the other but it's still shit.

No way Generations is better than Unleashed, unleast in day phases, Sonic is so much better than what Sega tried to do with the Sonic's boost.

tbh as a person that didn't play much of unleashed but played all of the levels in the unleashed project and watched a lot of videos sonic unleashed and sonic generations are going for very different things that is why the level design in both games is pretty different i like both (i personally like gens more) but i really like the difficulty of unleashed and i am looking forward to master it
