What golden generation? What have they done to justify the title? Playing in Europe will help develop these players, but apart from one or two most aren’t regular starters for their teams. A better more experienced foreign coach would definitely help maximise what you have though. Ideally you need someone who’s managed at international level and tournament football which is generally a lot more pragmatic than club football.

Good vid guys but i disagree on several points, with dallas i think the loss of dan qinn and his staff (along with almost half of the starters/major role players on their D) will greatly effect their effectiveness in that area. And on offense i see them as very one sided with more dependentce on dak than ever before. With the eagles i agree that kellen moore is not the answer. He has coached two pro bowl level player's to their worst seasons in back to back years at QB. Jalen hurts is coming off his worst season as a passer as we speak. I dont see a way that they improve in that area without kelce unless Barkley is a revelation. Washington has a very talented and fress staff with a lot of experience on top of a large influx in proven talented/untaped and explosive potential. I also feel like their offense will benefit greatly from a much improved defense (players and staff). Id have them no lower than second, and im not trying to be a hommer. NY doesn't have the personal, but anything can happen and if dabol finds the right balance and the D-line clicks to get them back on the field they could be a much harder out than currently perceived. (Daniel jones pending ofc)

This interview is a joke. The guy cares about his access and so he soft-pedals everything. I am fucking sick of the culture in this country where everyone kisses each others ass and nobody is ever held accountable. The elites just jerk each other off and gate keep the truth. It's why you have a fraction of the views of real voices who all happen to be fans and aren't part of your media circle jerk.

Under Berhalter there are always seems to be mountains to climb. Same thing that happened with Dest when he got a red card against Trinidad and Tobago. Needing an own goal against Jamaica in the last minute of the game in the Nations League. It is not coincidental. It comes from the top.

The assumption that GB isn't maximizing the talent on this roster isn't based on "blind faith". It's based on how the vast majority of these players play and look significantly better for their club teams and then play/look worse once they arrive to play for the national team.

I've honestly never heard them referred to as a "golden generation" until this tournament. Granted I also don't pay attention to the idiocy that is US soccer, much of the soccer press, us soccer twitter, or big soccer so maybe i missed this golden generation narrative.

Dudeeeee there is so much I want to remarq as a Deni fan or stan whatever. But equating Deni's trade value to Bradley beal's is crazyyy. Are you telling me that Deny value while playing with Sarr next year when he would be 24 years old, would go down? Yeah waiting until the end of the contract is probably waiting too much, but you could trade Deni in a year or two if he doesn't suit the Wizards plane.
@craighoffman
@craighoffman 2 күн бұрын
By nature it drops with one less year of contractual control. Deni, Kyle, Sarr, and to some extent Bilal all play the same position, so that could lead to a minutes decline if Kyle gets traded. There’s a chance he could’ve had a monster year and gone up. For sure. He’s very good! But, you got two firsts and two seconds plus a player in return for him. That’s an outstanding return!
@ElizabethHaydon
@ElizabethHaydon Күн бұрын
@@craighoffman It's one year from a 4 year declining contract which starts next season, even if Deni would just sustain his stats without any improvement his value at 24 years old still won't go down. The value the Wizards got for Deni is nice, no denial on that, but is not crazy by any means...14th pick and a maybe a bottom lottery pick in 2029? We just saw 6 first rounds being traded for a really nice role player guy which would probably never be an all-star (Bridges), which is kind of like the ceiling for Deni? And I don't understand why so many clear cut centers such as AD, Wembi and now Sarr are expected to play at the 4. You drafted for a Center, he and Deni should not be expected to play at the same position. And definitely Kuz value is going down, and he is the one that should have been traded. And I love Kuz, I think he was a good mentor and friend to Deni. In any means, unless the situation is trading Deni now, or give him a max with no trade clause, the comparison to Bradleay Beal is wild.

The USMNT "golden generation"is pretty mediocre at best- And major Footie nations like Spain ,Germany ,France, England etc. produce this level of talent continuisly and the vast majority of those players are, average or drop off the radar after a couple of years... The next great US soccer star is mainly just US media hype Even the last great hope Pulisisc is almost irrelevamt in terms of European footballing

The laissez-faire attitude of US soccer dooms them. A patchwork of private hands passing players around. No central planning or control to actually develop talent. We're seeing the American NBA players undergo the same thing. AAU ball is eroding talent pools and Foreign born players are dominating the league. Within 10 years, US basketball will also not be top 3 in the world at this pace.

8:11 every single national team system plays this way. Every single one. The issue is that our players are not good enough to play a single system because the talent pool is so disparate and discontiguous that you can’t play a single system. Kids have to pay $10-15k to play for a decent club disproportionately favors kids with money rather than the players with the best talent. Kids in Europe don’t have to pay for academy teams. They don’t have to pay for travel or hotels. You can just develop talent rather than make sure you are getting your checks from the parents!

6:36 Calvin Phillips will be playing for Man City by 2030!? The majority of academy players never play for their team!!! So not 1% of academy players play pro. To say he should be playing for Man City is absolutely blind faith.

No! Not even Pulisic has any quality outside of being surrounded by players who are clearly better than him. He is a standout against CONCOCAF teams but he was pedestrian and poor against Panama and Uruguay. The US is just bad.

The reason why the US will win nothing is because of how you overhype and overrate your players. There isn’t a single player apart from MAYBE pulisic who is anything for their club. I guess Tim Ream can get a shout but he plays for Fulham so…. Not exactly top quality. All these players are bang average but Americans refuse to see it. You all talk like Reyna is some incredible player. He can’t even get a game for FOREST. Who were fighting relegation. Once you realise how so far below par your players are, you’ll accept that this isn’t a golden generation and won’t ever get further than maybe a round of 16 in a tournament and be severely outplayed by vastly superior nations.

Hoffman, everything is cool. Im personally think Deni was the best draft pick the Wizards have made since Jhon Wall, people can think differently but I personally believe he HAS All NBA potential. He’s a really good work ethic and he’s only in the start of his uprise. Far from finished product. That’s where Dawkins was wrong on his evaluation IMO.

The USA for some reason cannot figure out how to assemble and coach a world class team. You would think by now, the US would have figured it out
@EveryHappening
@EveryHappening 3 күн бұрын
It’s difficult to field a world class team with far less than world class players. We don’t have a single player who is world class. Anyone claiming Pulisic is world class is a fan. Anyone watching Pulisic who isn’t a fan realizes he is productive and hard working but never once considered world class. World class players aren’t sold for what he was sold for at Chelsea. Did he have a good season at Milan. Absolutely. But a world class player changes the level of your team. If Pulisic gets injured, Milan plays the same. Chuckweze could play in the position and Milan doesn’t miss a beat. I am even curious if Pulisic keeps a starting position with the new coach. He lost his position at Chelsea when a new coach came in. In short, he just isn’t world class or a difference maker against the best players!!
