For the chip and remote to work, the KCM unit must be opened and the remote and key must be created from its file. If the file is read from OBD 2, only the remote can start the car.

8 hr decrypt for add a key. I’m looking at using vida for Volvo. It turns that add a key or lost key into a reasonable amount of time. Cost looks comparable to other manufacturers. Cost is passed on to the customer. Good work on any case.

Unfortunately, after going thru hell to get there, the lower/starter battery fuse tested GOOD. (Only the starter battery not getting charge voltage from alternator). On to the BCM....?

@ablockandkey same question because i just lost my key fob at work today in a very large hospital. Searched for hours and put out an announcement and nothing turned up. It only came with one key fob with the hide a key when i bought it about 10 years ago

If you peel the protective plastic off the screen protector on your autel touch screen will become much more responsive.

Good afternoon! how to determine which bcm2 is locked? what happens if you try to read a locked bcm2 without removing the protection? or if you try to remove protection from an unlocked bcm2? Will the original data be damaged?

Try via obd first, that's how you can tell whether it is locked or not.

Not all of them, unfortunately. AKL situations I always try a semi-smart if there is a slot, even if it was a prox system.

2011 VW Touareg: It's an IMMO-V or BCM2, same system as the one in the video.

It wasn't the battery. I needed a smart not a semi-smart key.
