Carnotaurus are so durable, bro just look at Toro. Toro survived a fall from 36 feet Hit by Bumpy’s club A building level explosion An interaction with the Indominus Rex A fight with Limbo having a large scar Was able to life rocks that look to be around 60 something lbs And if the feats in Hidden Adventure are to be canon, even if the playable episode isn’t, then Toro can hold their own against an adult Tarbosaurus

Is it really necessary to mention the specific names of each genera? None of these animals in Jurassic Park are considered authentic as the fossil record is ever-changing. Even our outstanding of Mesozoic life then doesn't match to what we know dinosaurs to look like now.

I like to headcanon that the camouflage carnotaurus does exist in the film canon and was on Isla Sorna, at least at some point. While the ones we see in the film are made by Masrani, I can easily see this Ingen version of the animal existing at least at some point, either going extinct again or may still be roaming Sorna's wilds given the fate of the island's dinosaurs is still fairly unknown, with animals to this date having been claimed to have been taken off Sorna, like JP2 & 3 velociraptors being seen on the mainland post-Fallen Kingdom.

It's too bad the Big One had no identifying marks. Are we to believe that the big one was introduced at the start of the movie? And if so, was it killed? Because six gun shots would be enough to put it down. Or was the big one responsible for killing Arnold or killing Muldoon? Another question is, did the big one, if female, lay eggs before it was recaptured in the raptor-trap? So many thoughts...

I would love to see HBO, Netflix, or another large company remake a book accurate mini-series of JP. Eight to ten episodes. It could be done. As long as it's advertised as accurate to the book it could avoid comparisons to the 1993 movie just due to how the movie had like 30% of the books plot in it. leaning into it's sci-fi horror origins would be so fucking cool.

It's definitely a sound theory. Though something I've speculated is whether or not the Big One actually killed ALL but 2 of the others? We heard Muldoon say in at the end of the prologue scene, "SHOOT HER!", followed by gunshots. Which could mean either: that they actually had to retire at least 1 of the remaining raptors themselves ( after the Big One's take over of the "pride") and blamed the ALL of the raptor deaths on the Big One's take over, OR that they actually bred and housed more than 8 raptors in that original paddock, and had to retire at least one of them during an emergency/crisis situation before the events of the film? And it might make sense to blame the Big One for ALL of the raptor deaths than admit that they had to put down the other raptors during a severe security breach - because Hammond wanted Grant and Sattler to feel confident in the park's safety and endorse the park. But had Grant and Sattler known about the security breaches involving the raptors, they very likely would have immediately revoked any endorsement regarding the park's safety, citing those security breaches involving the raptors. So did the Big One actually only kill 5 of the original 8? Also, did they exhibit 8 raptors and then add the Big One (#9), or was the 8 including the Big One in that tally? As for the Big One killing the original pack leader, I have personally speculated that it too must have started undergoing the same protogyny transformation as the Big One (assuming the Big One was turning into a male)? And could the following raptor deaths by the Big One have also been a result of a few others simultaneously undergoing protogyny to challenge either the previous alpha or the Big One itself? Thus the Big One was eliminating the other challengers, who were completely trapped with a new and hyper aggressive male that would not tolerate any rival males in his rather limited territory? Another thing, there were at least 2 (probably 3) other raptors that likely remained female, yet we and Grant, Lex and Tim only found/stumbled upon the 1 nest. So that also begs the question about whether the Big One's pride were communally nesting - all females laying their eggs into a single nest - or were there possibly 1 or 2 other nests out there in that paddock that were unaccounted for? And what were their states by the time of the events of the film? Were they just as viable? Did they have few success or more successes in the numbers of hatchings? This also leaves us with the other BIG questions about how were the raptor "societies" built - at least in both JP vs TLW vs JP3? In JP, it's very strongly suggested that it's a lion-like pride structure, as you've described, in contrast to the raptors in JP3, where it's suggested that there was likely a dominant/alpha male-female pair leading that pack. But as for TLW raptors, we have virtually no film canon insights regarding their social structure, where as the novel describes them as a "society of vicious adults", due to the raptors having nothing to imprint proper raptor behaviors from. Although the D-X prion disease may have also been a mitigating factor in social aggression, plus the Nublar raptors would have also have lacked the proper imprinting "models" too, so that might have been an overly simplified explanation in the novel? Just a bunch of still unanswered questions about raptor behaviors in the original 2 films.

So the Sinoceratops isn't really a Sinoceratops? I knew it was a hybrid but to the point it isn't even part Sinoceratops would be quite interesting, and it might be a good choice too. It might have been a great way to implement a hybrid in since it at least isn't being turned into a 'villain'. I don't know if the visual is meant to be that precise.

That's not true. In some animals that it's the case and with birds it can be. But many birds the males are larger and more aggressive and with the vast majority of reptiles this is the case. Another thing to probably add to this theory, are birds, especially some species of penguins. When males fight for mating rights, they attack eachother leaving one brutally injured or killed. So probably the Big One killed most of the pride since they might of been in a transation from female to male, and wanted no Competition

I think it's more likely that one of the other two raptors switched sex. In the only film where we see a pack of male and female raptors, JP3, the pack is lead by a female. Even if this is a different strain, I still think it's something to be looked at in regards to this theory.
@TheMightyN

It's clearly Geosternbergia. The fossil records shows that real Pteranodon never developed a crest of that shape. Transitioning into Jurassic Park III why come to the conclusion TLW variants are still the type species after witnessing them appear in the film during its middle? Also the head-canon all these animals were indeed female is off base, when sexual dimorphism wasn't thought much in most paleontological studies.

I actually quite like this theory, and it would explain the Big One's outburst into killing most of the pride. One thing I wonder is if the natural-born animals would still be capable of protogny or if that's a train only the directly cloned, from-the-lab animals would have.
@The_AmberMine
@The_AmberMine 5 күн бұрын
Protogny has only been observed in captivity. I don't see how, at least according to the current understanding of the phenomenon, it could happen in the wild. However, that being said it is entirely possible that any species cloned after the 1992 switch to Hyperolius viridiflavus could have potentially been able to under go this process. So species like the Gallimimus (the original dino that would have produced the eggs and we have observed infant individuals in the stampede scene) and Herrerasaurus to give a couple of examples.

The other thing that goes along with this theory is that Testosterone does make animals go crazy, we see it with elephants, orcas and even with lizards, when they hit puberty for lack of a better word the T increase is such a shock on their bodies it makes them highly aggressive especially without a mature male around.
@The_AmberMine

@@The_AmberMine On thinking on it a bit further is I know it can happen with Alligators and I know it does happen with domestic chickens too that an increase in T for the males creates an increase in aggression. I just don't know of any scientific papers that delve into this other than observations on captive animals. As most research has been conducted on Chimps and Elephants. Though it could be that the Big One is the only female in the pride with the smaller ones being all male, as with a number of bird species (ratites ) the female is dominant and the males look after the young with the female mating with and laying many nests to be looked after by the male birds.

Great video, I absolutely love this theory Personally the only reason why I would think otherwise is the colour pattern, as we see in the lost world and later confirmed by concepts for the dinotracker website we see that males of this raptor variant have the tiger colours and pattern, whereas the females are brown or a lighter orange Maybe the colours takes longer to change and that’s why she still looks the same even if she changed her sex to male But nonetheless this theory is amazing especially since she was bigger and a raptor had to fertilise the eggs so it could be her
