What gear are you using? Is 2nd gear usable for tight sections and obstacles?

1st gear for everything. 2nd isn't really usable for anything but hill climbs.

In the video, it seems pretty loud for a 150cc 4-stroke. Is it or is that about average for a 4-stroke trials bike? Thinking of getting one for the backyard but needs to be pretty quiet to not annoy neighbours.

Hi Tim, Do you think it would be a good beginner bike for an old small adult(me) or should I stick with something like a ty175 twin shock. I'm in Australia

Only issue is the turning circle. Otherwise a brilliant bike and the electric start is great. Right now I'd look for a beta evo 200 or 250 because second hand bikes are so cheap.

Depends on your local importer. I'd guess 3.5k to 4k USD. Depending on what you want to do with the bike you might want to do some of the upgrades I mention in this video. Where are you based?

The Jawa automatic transmission uses a dual clutch system (DCT) and will not operate if the clutch shoes, on one or both clutches are worn out. You can either have the shoes repaired or buy new ones, from Jawashop, etc. It's usually the high gear clutch shoes that wear out & fail first. Jawa also uses the DCT clutch system on their 1990's 50-210 Babetta 2 speed automatic moped.

It weighs a little more than my Beta 300 4 stroke about 75kgs. It feels very light unless you are doing really technical riding as the weight is pretty high up. As for the assembly it was all tight as can be. The linkeages are much tighter than my Beta as well.

Honda copied the Jawa automatic clutch system for the Honda Cub light motorcycle. Jawa sued them for patent infringement, in 1966, in what the British motorcycle press referred to as, "The Case of The Clutch". Honda settled out of court and negotiated a licence, to use the Jawa automatic clutch system, agreeing to pay 20% royalties on any Honda automatic motorcycle sold in any country that Jawa also sold bikes (which is every country on Earth!!). .

Did all the CZ trials bikes have skinny tanks?
@timlewis5527
@timlewis5527 Жыл бұрын
Nope, this tank is a custom fibreglass tank. The original was a bulbous steel thing. It looked okay but was too wide and too heavy for this bike.

How much does it weight? I've always dreamed about converting one of the common CZ ot JAWA models to look like their motocross or six days trial models.

@timlewis5527
@timlewis5527 7 жыл бұрын
mjlyam they are CZ motorcross forks but the standard forks work just as well. To make the standard forks rigid enough you have to sleeve the part of the fork (between the triple clamps) with a tube of ID equal to the forks UD. Recesses in the triple clamps house the end of these tubes and hold the front end square.
