Hi Benny. I am using a similar rig setup. My fly line and leader are attached by a tippet ring and then where my leader and indicator line meet are also joined by a tippet ring. I find my tippet rings are always getting hung up in my guides when trying to throw more line out to achieve a better drift or worse yet when Ive got a fish on and they're taking some drag. Any suggestions to minimize this? Also would a dry dropper rig have worked well on this stream? Thank you

I been fly fishing for quite some time now and im in need of improving my A game. Never tried a mono rig before. Will try this technique

Do you fish or just follow people around being irritating? I would never fish with you. Put the damn camera down and pick up a rod. First time seeing your videos and definitely the last.

Great video, Mike. Your distinction between feeling takes when in contact and seeing strikes when in semi-contact is extremely helpful.

Great trout, although on Spruce Creek anything under 24" doesn't count! Just kidding, great video and nice fish!

Great deer. Do you mind if I ask what scope you are using? I have been looking at scopes for my 350 legend to hunt in the woods with.

When using mono line do you use the 5 foot Indicator

In my experience, you should be able to make casting loops with a mono rig as tho it was regular fly line with NO FLY or weight on the end. If you can’t, the butt section of your leader is built badly or you need to learn proper fly cast techniques. I use 20lb chameleon for the butt. It’s stiff enough to drive the rest of your leader out just like real fly line. It does have memory, but any mono rig user needs to learn to remove memory by taking 10 seconds to stretch heir leader b4 use. That limp no memory line you use just doesn’t seem stiff enough to drive the rest of the leader out. That is just an opinion tho. Tight lines dude.

That is an awesome rainbow. That’s a two jalapeño Hannah Sheetz dog right there, buddy. And that’s my problem too, I don’t have any problems getting up on them slippery rocks, but coming down is usually trouble. 😊

Great video Mike! I got a couple of your mono rigs and used one on the Beaverkill and the Willow in New York this past week and I really liked using it. I do like using your mono rig where they are legal to do so since they are so smooth to use and cast so easy with no rough spots in the line going through the guides.
