This was so interesting. I have never been to Grapevine. You have done an amazing job of tracing the history of Bonnie and Clyde, and their gang. (I hope that people who missed your former videos on this pair and their gang, check them out.) Thank you for pointing out key sites related to them directly, or indirectly. **Never once did you say that you admired them. You did point out they interest you. ***There is a big difference. You also spent time, as you did in this video, paying your respects to their victims...🙏🏻 BTW, I looked up what $2,500 in 1932, would be worth today... It said it would be worth $57, 571.72. **** Thank you so much for taking us along with you, as you revisit this part of our history, which impacted many people. I hope that you, and your loved ones enjoy a blessed, beautiful holiday season, Nick. EXCELLENT video, as always...🔥👏🏻👏🏻 I have a fascination for the Titanic. It certainly doesn't mean that I enjoy the horrid incident, itself. My Mom's dad almost sailed on it.

HE SHOULD HAVE TOLD The city that it needed to be moved, or he was going to demolish it. That way they could either move the building or put some type of lien or demolition freeze on it till they could make it a landmark. Our country has this thing about destroying the past that needs to come to a stop. This landowner needs to be held to some kind of responsibility for this because it’s not right to demolish something that is part of history. There is hardly anything over in that part of Dallas of any kind of landmark so that would’ve been nice to have. Now that land will probably sit there for years. Nothing being built on it and that could’ve stayed there , this was senseless and him just showing I want since it’s mine. I’ll do iwhat I please he needs to pay a price by the city of of Dallas legally. It needs to cost him financially for his horrible Travesty that he made

I appreciate conspiracy theories, I enjoy hearing different points of view in almost eveything. The problem with most differences of opinion is people get so upset if you have a contrary belief. I don't have proof of my theory, and nor do you, so who wins.

Read the book which was the basis for The Highwaymen. The Netflix movie relied upon a great deal of Hollywood dramatization. For instance, there wasn’t the conflict between Hamer and the FBI but there was a great deal of coordination with meetings at the Driskill Hotel in Austin. Netflix told a story that was entertaining and slightly historic. The book is written by John Boessenecker about Frank Hamer. When I was a kid, some business hauled the car around in the trailer of a semi and people could look at it. I do remember a little but that car was riddled with bullet holes.
@TravelswithNickКүн бұрын
Thanks for all of that great info! I never knew about meetings in the Driskill. I love that hotel haha
@ThomasCrowne19 сағат бұрын
@ it is worth learning about Frank Hamer and there are a lot of resources such as books by Mike Cox who had been the communications/press guy for Tx DPS. Much of The Highwaymen wasn’t true to life. The ambush was I suppose. Netflix and Costner had a story to tell in a short time and the real story may not be as exciting up until lead was thrown into that car. Ma Ferguson was real but some suggest she was the front for her husband Pa Ferguson who had been impeached. I don’t recall when the Rangers were made a division of TxDPS but I think it was the same time DPS was formed in 1935. Good job with your videos. They are interesting and I admire your curious mind to learn and investigate history.

Great video...I used to believe the conspiracies on JFK ...but the thing that always got me....If Oswald was innocent, why did he flee the building? I mean think abt it .... if he was set up, then stay put and tell what you know since you didn't pull the trigger........look at his case: he did bring a "curtain rod" to work which was his rifle which was he had mailed to him and he signed the back of one of the photos of him holding the gun which his wife took, so no fake since it was signed before the assignation.... He was seen by an eye witness with the rifle out the window.....Oswald was known to be on that floor when the gun shots were fired, he fled the building as soon as he could...he was on the same street the officer was shot on. left money for his wife and his wedding ring which was all the money he had, and when caught, pulled a gun on the officers in the theatre....If all that wasn't enough, he admitted trying to kill a right-wing military captain a few weeks or months before with the same rifle ..that sounds guilty to me. If he was "Setup" and fled then he was still guilty of being involved so still rightly arrested anyway even if he wasn't the killer. I now believe Oswald acted alone, just like Mark David chapman, john Hinkley, the kid who shot at trump, and the others, except Booth which we know was a conspiracy of multiple peeps all arrested and hanged except booth who was killed. Oh well just my two cents I guess we'll never know

one thing I find interesting is that the police were driving down the street Oswald lived on , or a nearby street , and they were looking for a man that matched his description. Oswald's best bet would have been to stay at home if he was really involved. Why did he leave? Only Oswald can answer that question.
