I got my 6x45 AR barrel from Black Hole Weaponry a couple of days ago. I put it on a Bear Creek side charging reciver but when I tightened the barrel nut the holes for the hand gaurd were off. I didn't feel like I could torque it enough to get to the next set of holes so I went looking locally fir barrel nut shims. No luck, so I made one out of the metal ring off a right angle cutting disk. It took me most of the afternoon and a cut thumb to get it filed down to fit. I had already loaded up three ladder tests for it so the next day I got to shoot it. The load data I used was from the 24 Nosler for a starting point and my results followed it very closely as to such and such grains producing said velocity. It appears to me that the two are basically ballistic twins. All groups are 3 shot and velocities are the average, here are my results with 24" heavybarrel; 95 grain sst, 25 gr BL-C(2) gave me 2,464 fps average and near MOA group. Same bullet with 25.5 grains gave me 2,582 fps and 1/2 MOA group. 100 grain interlock with CFE 223 were as follows; 26 gr, 2,643 fps and MOA group. 26.5 gr, 2,702 fps and a little over MOA. 27 gr, 2,694 fps and just over MOA. 100 grain interlock with Ram Tac are as follows; 23.5 gr, 2,515 fps and MOA group. 24 gr, 2,572 fps and 1.5 MOA. 24.5 gr, 2,590 fps and 1.5 MOA. 25 gr, 2,707 fps and 1.7 MOA. And the last load 25.5 gr, 2,741 fps and 1.5 MOA. I used Lake City brass and CCI 41 primers. There were absolutely no pressure signs on any of the brass even though 25.5 gr of Tac was a full grain over max for 24 Nosler. I wanted to get to 2,700 fps because that's what I was able to get out of a 110 gr in 25-45 Sharps with Tac and it was a compressed load. None of these loads were compressed much if at all. I will try a couple more on the Tac powder because it's what I have most of and because in the 25-45 Sharps the compressed loads were more accurate. Now I need to find a full length sizing die for it. Midway had a set of Lee dies in it about a year ago but now they are gone. I could size down to 223 then expand back up but I don't want to work my case necks that much. I may just get another .223 die and open it up. I'll keep you posted.

@@Lowballinoutdoorz I tapped the gas port and put a screw with red lock tight in it. My upper is the Bear Creek side charging so I basically have a straight pull bolt action on an AR platform. I told Black Hole Weaponry not to even drill it but they did anyway. I didn't want it to be semiautomatic because I don't want to loose the brass. I did my 25-45 Sharp's and my 458 socom the same way. With 5.56 I don't mind loosing a few because they are still relatively inexpensive. Bear Creek also had an AR 10 style side charging upper in 308 that I got a few months ago and then found out the also have it in 243 Winchester with a 1:8 barrel. So I got it to! That was the whole reason I went down this 6x45 rabbit hole was the my Ruger M77 in 243 has a 1:10 barrel and I wanted a faster twist. I still like the 6x45 though, the 243 is great for longer shots but at close ranges where I usually take deer the bullets just desentagrate. The 6x45 at 100 yards is about like the 243 at 200 yards. I'm hoping the lower velocity will still give good expansion but not mess up as much meat.

I bought one in the polymer stock about a month ago. When I first took it out, it ran Aguilla subsonic just fine, but the Remington Golden bullets would cause the bolt to lock back farther than it was supposed to go. After disassembly, checking for any burrs or other anomalies and not finding any, reassembled and now it's working fine. I put 120 rounds of the Remington through it today with no problems. Extremely accurate little rifle which will be even better once I mount a scope on it.

I always bought the Crosman's until my brother turned me on the the Daisy 880 about 4 years ago. They were $38.00 at Walmart and came with a small scope so I grabbed a couple. The scope worked for a few weeks but suddenly went bad so I put a compact Tasco Bantam shotgun/muzzle loader scope on it. Unbelievable accuracy with standard Crosman pointed pellets. I don't even use my .22's for small game anymore. The thing I REALLY love about them is the variable power you can get with the multi-pump guns. If you want to take small game 10 pumps. If you just want to keep pests off the property without injuring them you can use flat point pellets and 1, 2 or 3 pumps ( depending on the size of the critter) and it doesn't do permanent damage but will get their attention and make them think twice about coming back. Great video!
