Again, awesome and very inspiring playing, Markus! P.S.: Here I finally found out that this is the great sounding guitar I was asking you about: Ibanez ACFS580CE. Awesome. I'm on the fence about buying one… I see that you use a mic instead to record it. Is there any info you can share with us about the recording and mixing process?

Hey Martin, thanks once more for your kind words and your (mental) support! Sorry I didn’t get back to you earlier, have been a little bit busy in the last few days… The guitar in this video is the one mentioned in the video description. The folks @ Ibanez have been a great support during the past ten years and I really dig their instruments. I love this guitar, especially for my live performances. My other main guitars that I use in a studio setting as well as in a live situation are my fabulous Stevens Custom OM, built by Munich based master luthier Werner Kozlik (guitars.de/stevens-custom-guitars/) and my McIlroy A56, a portable 6-string-grand-piano 😉 My recording setup is very simple: most of the time I use one or two Apogee Mic, attached directly to my computer. In the postproduction process I rely on the AI driven smart fx series by Sonible, especially the smart eq, smart compressor (very scarcely) and smart reverb. Lately I’ve been able to achieve som good results with a matched pair of Lewitt LCT40 small diaphragm condenser mics. Thanks again - a stay tuned, as there’s more to come…😊🙏

@@gahlenguitar Thanks for taking the time to help me out, Markus. What's the mic you've been using in this vid and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"? Is that an Apogee? Reminds me a little of the AKG 414…

Thanks a lot, Martin! I have piled up a whole lot of new arrangements that need to be recorded... I'm planning on doing so in the next couple of weeks, so hopefully my channel won't be as deserted anymore as it has been since the pandemic lead me to a day job as a music teacher ... which I quit recently ... ;-) Comments like yours are a great encouragement an really mean a lot to me! 😊❤

@@gahlenguitar Sounds awesome, Markus - looking forward to hear more of your golden stuff! Any info you can give me re: your ac guitar? And maybe also how you recorded to get that glassy chime like sound (apart from your great playing technique, that is)? I'm in the market for a guitar with a sound like that!

When are you gonna come down? When are you going to land? I should have stayed on the farm I should have listened to my old man You know you can't hold me forever I didn't sign up with you I'm not a present for your friends to open This boy's too young to be singing The blues, ah, ah So goodbye yellow brick road Where the dogs of society howl You can't plant me in your penthouse I'm going back to my plough Back to the howling old owl in the woods Hunting the horny back toad Oh, I've finally decided my future lies Beyond the yellow brick road Ah, ah What do you think you'll do then? I bet they'll shoot down the plane It'll take you a couple of vodka and tonics To set you on your feet again Maybe you'll get a replacement There's plenty like me to be found Mongrels who ain't got a penny Sniffing for tidbits like you On the ground, ah, ah So goodbye yellow brick road Where the dogs of society howl You can't plant me in your penthouse I'm going back to my plough Back to the howling old owl in the woods Hunting the horny back toad Oh, I've finally decided my future lies Beyond the yellow brick road Ah, ah
Truly amazing, he incorporates the bass line along with the rhythm and lead notes all at the same time. Fantastic coordination. Thanks...

Over time, I've been building my castle of love Just for two, though you never knew you were my reason I've gone much too far for you now to say That I've got to throw my castle away Over dreams, I have picked out a perfect come true Though you never knew it was of you I've been dreaming The sandman has come from too far away For you to say come back some other day And though you don't believe that they do They do come true For did my dreams Come true when I looked at you And maybe too, if you would believe You too might be Overjoyed, over loved, over me Over hearts, I have painfully turned every stone Just to find, I had found what I've searched to discover I've come much too far for me now to find The love that I've sought can never be mine And though you don't believe that they do They do come true For did my dreams Come true when I looked at you And maybe too, if you would believe You too might be Overjoyed, over loved, over me And though the odds say improbable What do they know For in romance All true love needs is a chance And maybe with a chance you will find You too like I Overjoyed, over loved, over you, over you

Back again... very enjoyable. Curious, I see you are now playing the the ARTWOOD Ibanez. Did you stop playing the Martin 000-28VS ?
@gahlenguitar4 жыл бұрын
Sorry for my delayed reply... I still own the wonderful 000-28VS and love its sound, but I play it only in rare occasions, because the 12 fret design can be somewhat of a limiting factor... Alongside the Ibanez I play a Cole Clarke Angel, A McIlroy A-56 (sounds like a grand piano... ;-) ) and a Stevens OM (built for me by an excellent luthier from Munich). Best, Markus
