Thanks for the video! I've been painting for 6 years and no one I've ever worked for has used one before. I've been on my own for a year now and finally picked one up from Sherwin Williams to have one. Thanks for showing how to use the gauge!

Can these can be used for glass or tintype collodion wetplate instead of pouring it on the plate?
@Gardco2 жыл бұрын
The applicator would need to be drawn over the coating to apply the system to the substrate. Please send us an email if you need further explanation, [email protected]

Thanks for video.. I want to know what is the range of impact force/energy of this apparatus? Simply what is minimum and maximum value of impact force that we can generate with the help of this apparatus? Hope for your speedy revert
@Gardco2 жыл бұрын
Using a standard 2lb dropping weight you would have a range from 2 inch pounds up to 96 inch pounds, with a 4lb dropping weight the range would be 4 inch pounds up to 192 inch pounds, and with an 8lb dropping weight (max mass) you would have a range of 8 inch pounds up to 384 inch pounds.

What type of applicator do you recommend for testing pigments?
@Gardco2 жыл бұрын
Bar Applicators are very popular for doing drawdowns when the wet film thickness is known, if you don't know the desired WFT you can use a Microm Film Applicator.

Can this blade be used for coating Perovskite solar cell ?
@Gardco3 жыл бұрын
Theses applicators are designed to coat a flat substrate, such as drawdown charts, glass plates, and flat panels. If the Perovskite Solar Cells are panels that are flat and large enough for the applicator to sit on top of it, we think it would work.

Are the results compared with what remains on the tape or condition of substrate?
@Gardco6 жыл бұрын
Hi Lance, thanks for your question. According to the specification (ASTM Specification D3359 for Test Method B - Cross-Cut Tape), it is the substrate or previous coating that the results are based on, not what is on the tape. This spec is included in our PAT kit (PA-2000) or you can order it separately PA-2808. We are also bringing a new instrument to the American Coatings Show on April 10th-12th in Indianapolis that will greatly help with determining the classification of the results. Email us for more info [email protected]

Your website says that the Zhan cups you have do not meet ASTM specs.
@Gardco6 жыл бұрын
Hi Jon, we have two different types of Zahn cups. Our EZ Zahn Cups meet and exceed ASTM D4212, our S90 Signature Series Cups efflux time does not meet ASTM specifications. You can find more information at this link - www.gardco.com/pages/viscosity/vi/viscosity_faq.cfm
