How do you normally intend to use Exchange of the Spirit? Personally, as a fan of using cards with effects that activate in the graveyard (such as Burning Abyss), I'd use Exchange of the Spirit in at least one of three ways: - 1. As a way to mill a bunch of cards from my deck to the graveyard, then use all the cards that were sent to my graveyard to somehow help me win the duel. - 2. To save myself from decking out. - 3. To put the opponent into a position where (s)he'll deck out next time (s)he draws a card (though I believe this would require one of those FTK deck builds that draw through their entire deck to be viable, much like a typical Exodia FTK Deck). Granted, the opponent's deck may also be full of cards with effects that can activate when sent to the graveyard (such as a Burning Abyss deck), so I can easily see how Exchange of the Spirit could backfire. Moreover, I could see this card being difficult to use within the 1st couple turns, since both players' graveyards must have at least 15 cards each, and the player must have 1000 LP to spare, in order for Exchange of the Spirit to even be usable without the aid of cards that could force the opponent to send cards to their own graveyard, which could, again, backfire on the player if the opponent's deck is full of cards with effects that can activate in the graveyard. One card that I could recommend for more easily milling your own deck without milling the opponent's deck would be Fiend Comedian, which requires you to toss a coin, then either of the following effects happens depending on the results: - If you call it right, banish all the cards in the opponent's graveyard. - If you call it wrong, then send an amount of cards from the top of your deck to the graveyard equal to the amount of cards in the opponent's graveyard. Another card that I could recommend for self-milling purposes (plus some additional benefits), especially if you were running more of a monster-filled deck, would be Berserker Soul, which can only activate when you inflict 1500 or less damage to the opponent via a monster that attacked the opponent directly, and which requires you to discard all the cards in your hand (at least 1 card must be present) as a cost, but allows you to excavate cards until you either excavate a non-monster card or excavate your 8th card, and send all monster cards that were excavated to the graveyard to inflict 500 damage to the opponent for every monster card that was sent from the deck to the graveyard by Berserker Soul's card effect.
