Every time I see those cute boots with all those little buttons , I think of my grandmother because my Mom would tell us this story about how when my Grandmother was a little girl she overheard her parents talking about going into town early the next morning , my Grandmother was so excited and because she was afraid that she would take up too much time in the morning buttoning her boots she didn't want to run the risk of being left behind, so she decided to sleep with her boots on , in the morning as she got up she could barely take a step because her boots felt so tight ! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

Grew up just down the river from Rosedale, I remember the big white hotel, and the concerts that were held here

The whites used to take their boats and anchor off "The Hotel" and listen to the music. I can remember my parents, aunts and uncles talking about it.

i think the 1880s big backside skirt has got to be the most ugliest of fashion incarnations. although it is very funny, so there is that.

Idk what doctors use in your area, but in the remainder of the developed world; doctors have always (and still do) use stethoscopes to listen to a patient's heartbeat, lungs, stomach sounds and other noises.

A former coworker was one of the reenactors that brought this gun in. It was a huge to do. He was cleaning it after it was installed and it dropped a notch and smacked his noggin. Fortunately all he got was a concussion. He told us how the beach had to be covered with pitch to keep half the beach from obscuring the view in order to fire a second round within an hour or more. Keep on reminding us of those who kept us safe.

So they could fire using electricity, yet they decided to put the trigger right by the gun? lol. This gun was only fired once at a merchant ship that didn't get the message to turn around, it was aimed high, as a warning.
