In the opening harmonics, it works better if you do a pinch harmonic instead of a left hand harmonic. With your picking hand use your index finger at the fret, and then pluck it with the thumb at the same time.

He wrote this song for a fingerstyle competition around this time and the goal was to demonstrate his technical prowess. He ended up winning second place IIRC. He's since slowed it down now that he prioritizes the song itself and not the skill to play it.
