@@juliushowlett7247 ok thank you! I bought some but they're a little slimmer than what the housing holds, but I guess these ones are just a little weird. it's okay though! they work, i just have to print some shims to hold them in place a little tighter. nbd

I assume you're talking about the little metal cage at 1:22? Just use a tiny flat-head screwdriver and pry it up, one point at a time until the thing is free. Let me know if I'm misunderstanding your question. :)

There's one point you didn't quite cover thoroughly enough for my taste: "Make sure that little tab is pointing where it needs to be." How can you tell in which direction it's supposed to be oriented? (Let's say you popped the capacitor out to see what model number replacement you needed to buy, and prior to seeing it out of the watch for the first time, you had no foreknowledge that there was such a thing as a battery that needed a specific rotational orientation, and so you weren't paying attention to how it was situated when you removed it.)

@@MrOmegaRabbit Yes, I see what you mean. A modest diagram may have helped to show what needed to go where. Next time I need to replace this 'battery', I promise the video will be better :) These watches are pretty cool and I hope this vid helps save any others that would be binned otherwise. It was an amazing set! I especially liked listening to the Lego-curated interviews based on the history of this piece while I worked on it. It was super immersive and exceeded my expectations on more levels than anticipated.

Hello Mr. Howlett, I recently got a preowned copy of this board game for Christmas. Everything checks out okay except for the rotating discs. The top disc seems to be wonky, causing it to not lock firmly into position and to bounce whenever I push down on it using the drill. From your video, I believe I’ve figured out what part of the inside is broken. However, because of the age of this board game, I am hesitant to disassemble it. Once disassembled, is it relatively easy to reassemble the board game? My worst fear is that once I take it apart, I will have permanently broken it. Thank you for your help!

I was a bit nervous about taking this apart but it reassembled just fine. As a matter of fact, I took the cardboard base and moistened it a bit and compressed it back to its original flat form before reassembling. Give it a shot, it does no good to have it in its current wonky condition :) Let me know how it goes!

It's basically a bakelite zip gun and the very first 3D "printed" gun. I always think about how clever this design is.

@@DieselRamcharger @Diesel Ramcharger Well it would be pretty difficult to print a plastic gun in 1993 😂😂😂 and It shows in he film how he made it, it's machined from a solid block of bakelite but the concept of a plastic gun is the same. Subtractive manufacturing as opposed to additive manufacturing.

@@reallyfurious it was diminutively machined from plastic. that has absolutely fucking nothing. at all. to do with FDM printing. nothing. just regular old 2d machining on a substrate that isnt metal, which is extremely common. what the fuck are you smoking?
