Nice video, thanks! Only thing I was always taught, put a new belt on regardless! I'd that other is still good, it's a good spare trail belt! All the time and trouble, it wouldn't hurt a bit!

I just got a 02 with 3800 miles. I kind of sticks when shifting into L. Did some plowing. Shift it into low and it doesn’t engage. Almost always have to do it stick and kind of play with the shifter. Then a few times heard a grinding type noise after shifting into reverse and moving and then it went away. Any ideas ? It supposed to have been very well maintained.

2003 thru 2008 are the same axles and bearings on the 660 Grizzly are the same. The 2002 is the only year that it's different.

came here for fathers day in 08 stayed in a cabin that was part of the campground , don't remember if it was part of the state park but we went to a section of trail and it was a powersports paradise , rock hills and sand pits to climb miles wish we found it sooner and not got 2 flats on my dads coworkers trailer to play a lil bit before the storms hit

I’m 6 years late, but thank you for the video! It was very helpful and I felt comfortable doing the work myself. The 660 is in a 07 Rhino, but things were basically the same. Mine had a bit less dirt caked inside, but was still malfunctioning and only allowing the Rhino to go 11mph before the ‘slipping’ occurred. 👍👏

The primary is NOT connected to the crank. There is a wet clutch inside the crankcase. That’s why it spins freely. Impact is fine on the primary.

Couldn't you just take a hose to that to make it quicker instead of taking a screwdriver and possibly an air hose??? 30 minutes in

Yeah, those cheaper pliers are not good for anything. I had to take mine back for a replacement, but also bought a better one which is made for those bigger stubborn c clips

Hi. I just bought one of these used. It was supposed to of had a wet clutch installed. It doesn't pull at all and after taking cover off I noticed the back half of primary clutch that some call the fan....it has no splines in it at all and doesn't look like they were worn off?? Is the spined piece pressed into to back half? Thanks

Hey Dennis just got one yesterday and dont know shit about it. Im just in the research phase. Any idea if there's forums or other good info sources for these 660s?

@@HooDRidEWhiteY which one did you buy?
@HooDRidEWhiteY3 жыл бұрын
@@dgmenace73 2003 grizzly 660. It seems to be a solid machine, I'm taking it to the mountains tomorrow for my son's birthday party. I put some new tires on it and did an oil change. Still need to do the spark plug and air filter but it runs ok. All the lights work and the winch works too. Kind of runs like a tractor. I'll probably do the carb and inspect the cvt this winter.

Great video. Just make sure to take your Dramamine before watching so you don't get too dizzy from the camera moving around so much. Had to take a few breaks during the video so I didn't hurl.

Thanks, guys! Now I know why my old Kodiak 400 has no "OOMPH" over 15 mph. I plan to clean the clutch assembly and replace the belt on the beast this weekend. PS - I don't feel so bad about my cluttered work bench now that I've seen yours! LOL
