Most higher end violins only have a fine tuner on the E, it's best to learn how to tune without fine tuners at all. Good video tho for beginners who still have all the fine tuners.
@stiffcookie8 ай бұрын
That depends on the strings you have. If they're all metal (not gut/synthetic), you'll want to use all four fine tuners.

Brenda Stubbert would be very surprised that a tune named for her, composed by Jerry Holland who was another Cape Bretoner, was "From Scotland" seeing as she is from Cape Breton. Otherwise an enjoyable video.

This saved my life! I spent so much money and just couldn’t tune it! Thank you so much!

just to add one more thing here, many fiddlers also call that a cut- not a bowed triplet (as it's actually 2 16ths followed by an 8th- not an even 3)

Idk how to tune a violin by ear- I’ll never be able to…
@rthirst3 жыл бұрын
All you do is listen to the sound of the note you make when you pluck the string VERY CAREFULLY and then keep replaying the tuning sounds till the sound of the plucked violin string and the tuning sound match up.

Thank you. I was agreeing with you and 'aaah right-ing' at you all through your video as if you were really in front of me 🤣. Concise and beautifully explained we’re very lucky to have this taught to us for free. Thank you do much.
