So on that basis where is the place to be in the arena to get the best possible experience ?
@markcouperthwaite35002 жыл бұрын
My son has been again since and got standing tickets. He’s done both, and seated is best for a visual/audio experience. Atmosphere great standing though. He said that visually, it’s slightly skewed when standing as the screen is at a slight angle. Better the further back you stand, but more people to stand in front of you. I’m going again soon, and I’m going for seated again. Hope this helps

Always some smart arse trying to ruin the magic.
@markcouperthwaite35002 жыл бұрын
I find the whole thing fascinating, and so do a lot of people. As for the “smart arse ruining the magic”, the clue is in the video’s title. If you don’t want to hear about it, don’t watch it - it’s that simple!
@stefanzantes88182 жыл бұрын
He is not ruining anything, just explaining! The people who are just telling "it's a screen why do you spend much money on watching a film" are the ones which are ruining it by making the Show ridiculous. Most of those people haven't seen the Show btw. ! I can tell you, I knew about the technical wizzardry with the screen but immediately immersed into the Show as soon as it startet and completely forgot about it! Also, I mean we Fans are not dumb of course we know how the actual ABBA look like, but still, if you are there, you believe they are live on stage in that moment! However I would sum it up this way: This 2D technology used in the Show looks more 3 dimensional and life in the flesh than any hologram you might have seen before!!

Great performance but the sound engineer that was responsible the 19.8.2022 should be exiled. The liveband plus the Abba files were messing up. The female voice range was often overthrown by the Instruments volume and very often the upper midrange which is the range where the female singers should shine instead of turning unbearable in many moments within the songs and some frequencies around 8000 HZ was so distorted that it was sonically simply not OK. What was outstanding by the way is the Ambiente Music before the Show starts - this is Top . We all will attend again at another date and we really hope the sound in the hall will be leveled and mixed without the horrific result on the 19.8. If not and this was done on purpose I would recommend the sound engineer goes back to train himself.
@djrbfmbfm-woa2 жыл бұрын
i've only heard a snippet of the audio of their tunes in that venue, and i agree. what they are doing is overdubbing in reverse. the backing is live but ABBA is just a recording of the original isolated vocals. in such a large venue treble energy will diffuse abnormally, not like on the record. plus phase problems would abound., causing huge peaks and dips. they'll probably improve the balance over time, but, in the end, nothing will replace the original mixes. j.
@markcouperthwaite35002 жыл бұрын
When I went, the sound was phenomenal. Like I say, I’ve been to (& played) 100’s of gigs over the years, so I’m pretty clued-upon what sounds good too. This was the best sound of any gig I’ve been too by far. I think you must have been on an off night Daniel. That’s a shame. There are a huge amount of speakers around the arena, much more than a “normal” gig would have. The band were mixed perfectly, and the way the vocals were seamlessly blended into it was amazing. It’s technically easy enough to sing along to a backing track, but it still blows my mind how perfectly they did it in reverse. I suppose the band must all have click tracks constantly in their in-ear monitors.
@zanyzander2 жыл бұрын
@@markcouperthwaite3500 agreed . I went on 28.8.22 and thought wow this music is mixed so well, and thought yeah of course its all pre-recorded, then the band appeared and I realised it was a mix of live and recorded and was even more impressed.

I must be the only ABBA fan who could find fault with the show. Perhaps I expected too much. I won't say why as it would spoil it for others but I now wish I had read all the newspaper reviews beforehand as the clues are there. It's a feast for the eyes of course, but I thought I was going to see ABBA in concert as they were in their prime but of course it's not that, how could it be. KZbin clips of the '77 & '79 tour dates are better.
@SkyBlue-ue4be2 жыл бұрын
*Warning Spoilers* Fair enough but I did say I must be the only one! I will try and justify my comments but this isn’t an argument I’m going to win is it! As a life long fan, the voices don’t sound correct, which I thought might be the acoustics but when the video of Waterloo comes on the voices are correct. Even worse my favourite song, ‘Does your mother know’ was a poor rendition by the session singers on stage, and to add insult to injury my second favourite song ‘Voulez-Vous’ was a cartoon! The avatars aren’t correct close up. The girls at the age depicted where simply beautiful, the avatars are not. Agnetha was slimmer for a start. Two tickets, travel etc, total cost over £400. I wouldn’t put anyone off going but it’s not an ABBA concert as they were in the ‘70’s, it is however an amazing technological piece of wizardry.

@markcouperthwaite35002 жыл бұрын
What could possibly be even slightly contentious/politically incorrect about lights that would make anything I said be classed as “woke”? I’m confused in all honesty. I’m simply talking about abba and the lighting. I’m 53, and never been described as “woke” in all my life. Would you like me to swear about the concert/lights perhaps? Possibly be racist/sexist/misogynistic? Tell you what, I’ll “un-woke” myself and call you a knobhead eh? That better? 🤪

Excellent review and fine observations ("Polar" pyramids). "In big, you can see, they are not real" Indeed: they are eerie look-not-much-alikes. Could easily be improved with deep fakes (there are examples on non-YT sites on that) but isn't. People pay good money to look at those fakes which, at least partially, explains the secrecy surrounding that concert. Plus, 3d entertainment is not such a big deal anymore. Jean-Luc Mélenchon, candidate for France's last election had himself "hologrammed" in 12 locations in France, live. He didn't spend 140 M£ on that.

Nice review, I totally agree with all that :) I saw it (stood in the dance arena) a week after it opened, amazing, immersive and beyond my expectations - one of those things I want my friends to see because I know they'll be blown away with it too . . . my criticisms were minor, I understand why they did Waterloo like that, it was real and how they broke big so they kept it authentic . . . I would like to see a few songs added if they ever do extend it (Money Money and Take a Chance) . . I am trying to persuade friends to go and I'll go back again too, I want to see their reactions to it :)
