I was here, one of the best bands I've seen live! Video quality is great, how were in dealing with the heat? Was 95 that day and I almost got heat exhaustion after their set (It was 100% worth it though)

I was only casually familiar with the Cult, until doing more work for this video. I did think calling their fan group the Death Cult is not the best name. I did learn that before they settled on the Cult name, the band did in fact call themselves the Death Cult before dropping the Death part because of the negative connotation. You would think they would learn from that.

Jeez....Ian was singer in a band in the early 80's called Southern Death Cult, he left taking some of the songs with him and started a new band with Billy Duffy, dropped the Southern and were just plain Death Cult for a while. Both these names originated from Native American culture, look it up, I'm not gonna explain it all here. They then dropped the "Death" bit just before they hit the big time due to perceived negative connation's from people that didn't get what it was about. The latest tour under the Death Cult banner was to celebrate the 40 Year anniversary of when Death Cult (basically the band the world knows as The Cult) was formed. It's the strongest tour they've done, since the 90's in my opinion and the early songs deserved a good airing again! I have decent recordings of 2 of the shows on my channel.
