I remember being 5 years old walking though the halls of Kettering with my mom and older cousin who was mentally challenged trying to enroll him in special education classes. I saw the most beautiful girl I ever seen in life 😍😍 she looked unreal beauty out of this world .

Crazy how the city couldn't find a way to preserve this building with all its heritage. No one will care about a Starbucks and Target built downtown, if the city's real historical gems deteriorate.

The building also has problems with asbestos

I realize nothing lasts forever, but it's still a sad story no matter how you look at it ! My memories of Kronk go back "48" years ! The year was "1975" and I was a 15 year old welterweight, who took a city bus three times a week from Warren & Southfield to train at the Kronk ! Which was at the corner of JUNCTION and MCGRAW ! Now this was before any of the Kronk fighters were Pro's ? But they were still widely known throughout the amateur ranks as one of the best in the country ! I started training at the Kronk after reading about Mickey Goodwin in the paper ? Talking about his high knockout percentage which was unusual being you only boxed three rounds in the amateur's ? Oh how I miss those days of my youth and the Kronk gym !

The street led to its ultimate demise. Such a loss. No surprise as Detroit fell in much the same way. Their budget shortfalls were caused by corrupt politicians.

It was more than corrupt politicians. DETROIT was doomed after the honest man Henry Ford started his company and wrote his books. They didn’t want any more Henry Fords and as a result flooded it with drugs and removed the programmes for the kids.

Is this mall still standing? Man, this place brings back memories. I hung out here in the late 80s and early 90s when I lived in the area
